Yes, this current configuration of the team doesn’t work, Ayton has a chance in a new environment to flourish, keep Derozan and what? Make the play in be a 6 seed first round exit, Make Lavine the clear 1, and give PWill more opportunity before moving on or not.
Me a Derozan fan and a bulls fan it really hurts me to see the bulls even LOOK at trading Demar for Ayton and Derozan has one year on his contract so I think once his contract is expiring then the bulls should think about trades.

1. DeMar is a better team leader/clutch player than Zach. 2. DeMar has 1 yr left on his contract while Zach has 4 yrs left. DeMar will be off the books next summer giving the Bulls enough cap space to land a top-tier free agent in 2024. 3. A Zach trade will bring back a bigger haul of players and future draft capital for the Bulls.

On the Demar point, the overlapping skills are one thing, but the biggest issue with Demar is his pace killing and the fact that the other two stars in Vooch and Zach absolutely have to change their shot profile due to his shortcomings.

I am a Raptors fan but I have no idea why any team would give up a starter for Ayton unless the player is a "problem" player. Given his overall perforance over the past 2 seasons and the past 2 playoffs, as well the size of his contract, he is at most worth a solid bench player and a second rounder. Both the Raptors and the Bulls should be interested in getting Rozier from Charlotte since the Hornets will definitly want to trade him given they have the second pick in the draft.
I remember when Chauncey Billups was drafted by Boston and he legit looked like a bust. Now he’s a hall of famer. Sometimes a different situation is all a player need. Zach is not that guy. Zach is a number 2. The Bulls were two players short of the conversation being different. They needed and need a quality point guard and they needed and need a more consistent 3 point shooter. If they’re able to do that then they’ll be in contention.
