If Harden goes, Shake should be the starting PG next season. He’s better than VanVleet is & you guys will see the light if he gets a rub of games.

Last two times Shake has gotten a run of games as a starter btw. He did those numbers on a pretty low usage rate too. Shake is statistically a positive defender unlike VanVleet & Shake has a positive NET Rating with Embiid off the floor. Harden is the only other person on the current roster who also does. It shows to you that Shake has the potential to be able to run his own unit when Embiid is off the floor.

If Harden goes, make Shake the PG and second option. He’s the best playoff performer on the Sixers by far too. Shake was the Sixers only good player in the Miami series and he won a game on his own v Atlanta too.

Also Shake/Maxey/Embiid lineups have actually performed much better than any lineup including Harden this season. This is NOT saying that the Sixers are better without Harden. This is saying that Shake is good and they can still contend if Harden goes if they trust in Shake next season. Many Sixers fans always talk about how they wish Embiid had his own Jamal Murray. I think Shake honestly is that with good defense. Shake had a 20 assist game late this season too showing that he can playmake at a high level when needed but I think also leaning into Embiid playmaking more will be good too.

Certainly has better size and defensive potential.

Yea I was always high on shake especially having worked under Larry brown. One of those guys that somehow just gets the ball to go in when he drives and of course shoots the three very well in stretches. Always thought he could have been the 6th man but melton took a lot of minutes from him imo. I’d love to see shake get a solid 18-24 minutes a night but sadly I think he might want to take a short deal somewhere else in hopes of getting more play time and a big contract after that

I love shake, I always thought doc should have played him more. I think morey has talked real highly of him too, hopefully he stays this off-season

  4. LordLucasSixers

    I would say no.

You can’t cherry pick 10 games over the course of three years a day he should be the starting PG, I like shake but its very obvious he’s been inconsistent for years now and not to mention he is a free agent this summer and unlikely to resign here for a discount.

  6. shake is a lot better than what people give him credit for, but you must be smoking that good shit with those statements that you are making. what a load of nonsense lol

I’m a Shake truther but tbh I don’t think it’s very useful to compare him to any other guys in the league because there isn’t much data on him. I’m not super convinced on him as a playmaker but I absolutely think he should get more burn as a ballhandler

  8. theytook-r-jobs

Bad opinions aren’t illegal but maybe they should be

  9. Scottsm124

Ahh yes…who wouldn’t want a starting PG with horrid court vision

  10. jeppsforst

Shake seems like the type of guy that will sign elsewhere on a bad to decent team, start, put up like 18-4-8 empty numbers and then we get pissed that they let him go

  11. We’re really gonna compare a guy who averages like 3 minutes per game in the playoffs(and 90% of those minutes was in garbage time) to a 20ppg championship winning guard…..

On a team like the Sixers who desperately needed a backup PG, they guy couldn’t even sniff the the floor in the playoffs….

  12. StudentDPT

Ya cuz the last 5 games is enough of a sample size…some of you need to go on hibernation

  13. balemeout

Shake is a 18ppg player on a team that gives him a green light, just don’t think that is here unfortunately

  14. DarthSmoke713

Still not playoff caliber player…but sure let him go get regular season buckets.

  15. Zyborgg

I absolutely fucking agree. Shake is such a confidence player and eve seen what he is capabale of

  16. wawasmoothies

Shake should play more. he is not a second option

  17. albpanda

Inconsistent, not a Starter, do like him on our bench though he’s solid no doubt

  18. HoagieTwoFace

I’m going to become the joker…

FVV got All Defensive team votes..

  20. TheDuck23

Yea, this sub definitely needs an off-season.

  21. TIandCAS

Shake would probably be more efficient but shake also can’t pass or playmake. We need a playmaker on our team if we are replacing James Harden.

  22. DeltaSlick

Shake one of my favorites that’s the hometown guy! He needs more minutes for sure

  23. oldskoolchevy

The real hot take is that shake is better than cade Cunningham

  24. diamonddaddy88

His handle is too loose to be a starting PG.

  25. Banana_Pete

Shake gets absolutely exposed on defense. He’d be great to include in a trade potentially, since he has a lot of value but very little to the Sixers.

  26. DylanToback8

He’s been one of my top 3 players for years. Love Master Shake.

  27. OopsIShardedAgain

Just got an autographed shake Milton photo off the Sixers kids app for my son today! Shake n bake babyyyyyy

  28. Moheezy__3

He’s a free agent though if I’m not mistaken

  29. Mustache_ketchum

Please get him out of here. Shake stans are as bad as korkmaz stans used to be.

  30. averagebensimmons

I thought Shake was grossly under utilized after he had that stellar showing while the starters were out beginning of the season. I’d like to see Shake run the second unit. I don’t think the Sixers are going to go any further than they have with him as the starting pg.

  31. SendNubes__

It’s a bold claim but I’ll back it. The hell have we been keeping him around for anyways?

  32. jayicon97

Shake might have the lowest BBIQ of any Sixers point guard I’ve ever watched. I like the kid but with his BBIQ + his Medicine Ball Toss shot really fuck me up from wanting to see him get more run.

  33. Wallyworld77

Bucks fan here. If you guys find yourselves in a pinch for a starting PG if you can’t land a star PG on open market when Jevon Carter started for injured Jrue Holiday this season he averaged 17pts and 4.5 assists shot 42% from 3pt all while being a demon on defense. He’s a free agent this year and I don’t see anyway Bucks will be able to afford to pay him next season. We went 12-4 in those games.

  34. What-tha-fck_Elon

I was really shocked that Shake basically was benched for the playoffs. He could have sparked something against the Celtics. There were times during the season where he came in and made a difference. Why not use him when it mattered? That’s when I really started to question Doc.

  35. marukoka

Under a decent coach, Shake is better than Jordan Clarkson, and any team in the league would like a Jordan Clarkson coming off the bench
