Bob Myers on why he’s leaving:
You can’t make it to a day like this anymore without everyone knowing what you have to say. This is tough. This is hard. I have so many different things, emotions, that I’m still processing, but the bottom line is — this job, the one I’m in and I would say this for any professional general manager or coach requires complete engagement. Complete effort. 1,000 percent. If you can’t do it, then you shouldn’t do it.
Bob Myers on why he’s leaving:
I can’t do that to our players. I can’t do that to Joe [Lacob, Warriors majority owner], I really can’t do it to myself. And that’s the question I have been wrestling with … I’ve only known how to do things one way my whole life and that’s all the way.

We haven’t gotten everything right. I did got yelled at a few times about we didn’t sign a big man at the buyout. It’s not as easy as everyone thinks. We do love big guys contrary to popular belief. Thank you for your support. Thank you for your passion. Understanding that we are human.

Mike’s great. He’ll (be) good as a GM, if he wants it. It will be great, if that’s what he wants. But it’s his call. It’s Joe’s call. It’s not my call…But he’s really good, and he would be fantastic if that’s a choice. But I’d be lying if I thought, four years ago, let’s bring in Mike and he can assume this thing. I told him, if that’s what he wants, then I’m fully supportive. I said I’ll help with Draymond if he needs it.

Top 10, yes. Still weak for not sticking it out during the transition phase of the big 3. Tough decisions have to be made and fans will be angry. Next man up will most likely be the scapegoat and get not enough credit if he can make it work.
If the Warriors want to keep Green he can still play for 3 years, but it's not worth it without a big center. Klay nearly cost the Warriors the championship last year with his bad shooting. This year he cost them the chance for it. It's time to let him go as they can't keep both. You pick one. Myers did much but this year he failed and he knew it. Not pushing for Howard to train Wiseman who they needed. Not cutting Andre was huge as he cost them big. Giving Poole his contract too early was huge. Not suspending Green for the punch another. We don't need Green blaming that punch for what happened so late in the game. Kerr was outclassed.

W, obviously. I think given the budget restrictions you gotta deal Draymont, Klay and maybe Wiggins and Poole if it gets them under the cap and hopefully gets them deeper so they can compete again for a championship again ASAP with Curry.
I just cant understand why nobody is checking on Green, as if all the technicals and suspensions he had was just ok. Forcing KD out and punching poole is still OK? How about all the strong words he kept on saying in his podcast as if he knows it all. And the report that he will leave if Myers leave. Are all those things ok, for a team with championship aspirations? How about the inability to score? Pay attention to his game, when he gave up his dribble, he does nothing but force the shooter to come and create, rather than take the shot because no one is guarding him. If Jokic is the most underated, Draymond is super overrated and overdue. At 6'5" and getting older, it no longer works to play the center position that cannot score.

Continuity for GM is there, they need to sign Kerr and get a D coach.
I've strategically stayed away from these rumor videos, because many of them truly don't make sense. That being said, I knew Bob Myers was leaving midseason, the writing was on the wall. Secondly, rest assured, Draymond Green is as good as gone, that's usually the case upon the changing of the guard. Mike Dunleavy Jr. I don't think would be a good replacement, but then that's me. The Warriors will likely promote from within, so it might work. As for Klay Thompson, the Warriors would be hard pressed to allow him to walk away and not offer him an extension. Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole are the key components in trading for frontline help, including stronger reserve players. I love Wiggins, but for his contract, he's way to passive on offense to keep him on the roster. And as for Myers stepping down, it just allows you to appreciate former Lakers great Jerry West that much more, because he's been an successful executive for decades, always striving to win the championship every single year, and not wavering on the year to year challenge. Not everybody is built to handle the pressures of winning championships, but kudoz to Myers for giving "Dub Nation" 4 championship titles.
Imagine this… giannas is my guy to come to the warriors but under a serious contract currently. So. Joel embiid, Damien Lillard, Mac mclung, with curry, klay, draymond, and loney, also divincinza along with Patrick Baldwin. Get rid of poole, kuminga, wiggins, jmichael green, 2nd round picks.

As Dray is getting older we need to help him out and not require him to guard a center. Get a big body for that. At the same time the fact that MD Jr. Was scouting prior is a big plus, let’s just hope nepotism doesn’t win the choice for the new GM.

I think whoever becomes the next GM will be very telling on how serious ownership is determined to continue a tradition of winning. If Joe hires his son and he doesnt bang it out of the park in the first 2 years with at least a finals appearance, then this organization is in trouble.

The real reason Bob left is because he cannot be a good loyal friend to Klay and Draymond, and a good loyal employee/friend to Lacob. What’s best for the Warriors team is to low-ball Klay and Draymond in their contract extensions or trade them, but that would make him a bad friend. He can’t do that. Relationship building is his thing. He is a very genuine guy, and he can’t make that hard, but correct move for the team, without seriously jeopardizing those relationships.
