This team is NOT truly DEEP if you CAN NOT go at least 9 or 10 deep in the Playoffs! Develop your Defensive Schemes, Ball Handling, Offensive Strategies, Playmaking, & RIM Protection! I must say Jo got them to REBOUND! AL need to start humbling himself and lead the depth along with Malcolm!
That’s a lie Brad. Boston was not number 2 defensively all year. Cleveland was first and then Miami I believe. Celtics were either 4th or 5th.
Trying to keep some perspective here. We were in a game 7 last year against Miami too – in the same exact spot – we just came out the winners that time.. had we lost who’s to say we’re not having the same conversation about Ime as we’re having about Joe right now.
The Jays are still young and have had more playoff success than a lot of other young duos or individuals so I’m trying to focus on that.
But man is it disappointing that we seemingly want to make no changes
Develop Grant & SAM they should be better than Desmond Bane and Max Strus at this point they need to work on both Physio and Skills! Robert need to take the next step in a legit Mid Range & Post Game! Marcus need to fully recover from current and previous injuries along with Robert & the Jays! JT needs to get the surgery from now to start healing mean while work on mid range shot making! As well shot creation for team mates!
Hey Joe just needs 6 or 7 years to learn & improve. We & JT can wait until 2030 to have a chance at winning the championship.

What's most discouraging about hearing this is if you take what Stevens is saying at face value, not much needs to change (with the exception of a more experienced assistant coach.) Even if he plans on making a big move, he's not going to tip his hand but there's doesn't seem like there's much urgency in his delivery.

I’ve been a Celtics fan since the late 70’s I can’t remember Celtics having a below .500 record at home the last 2 postseasons.12-13
Obviously we played well away from home and in elimination games. there was a time not too long ago when Boston was great at home. Also it would help if we brought in another wing player would can defend and shoot well.
Lastly the Celtics need to be more efficient offensively, get into their offense sooner, pass the ball inside ( more post presence) and if it not third move the ball around for an open shot whether it’s from 3, a midrange or layup. Open shots !! Too many times the degree of difficultly of shots hurt us.
I didn’t see a whole lot of guys moving with out the basketball especially in the later part of the Miami series.
Had Joe stayed interim, the pressure would have been alleviated all around. Brad threw his eggs into that basket too soon strictly on the basis of allegiance and Joe got exposed while the organization is now stuck looking to justify why he should be kept aboard. Had Joe stayed as the interim, the team would have had the flexibility and PR advantage to keep it's options open.
With Brad, no matter the circumstance, it's always the same milquetoast responses about 'being better' while soothing everyone's sensibilities. He will do absolutely nothing oriented toward making this team appreciably better.
Instead, he'll run this whole thing back next season on empty 'good vibes' while making overrated end of bench moves for personnel that the coach won't even integrate into the entirety of the team dynamic. He will not hire a team of assistants that differ from his deadpanned demeanor in any meaningful way.
This will not end well. Brad as well as the coach, should have been let go. They cannot be trusted to navigate these complicated waters moving forward.
The Celtics strength is their depth yet the only play 7 or 8 in the playoffs. What good is it when you don’t use your best. The thinking that you shorten the bench has got to ch w change
They just don't get it – have to trade Brown for a legit 4 or 5 that can contribute. Also need a true PG that can control the flow of the offense. Can't win a championship with 2 All Stars that play essentially the same position. Positionless basketball only works when you have a generational talent like Steph. Total lack of production at the 4 and 5 this year. Just terrible. May end up rooting for Sacramento moving forward. Trade JB to Houston for the Turkish center and Jalen Green, plus picks.

Based on this presser sadly I expect more of the same and in fact maybe an even earlier playoff exit next year. Joe seems like a good guy with character but anyone with minimal basketball iq can see this man is not close to ready to lead a team with a championship window.
In my opinion it was a blessing g in disguise for Miami to win. With the Tatum injury and Brogdon we most likely would have lost against Denver. That would be 2 finals lost back to back and that wouldn’t look good at all. We will bounce back next year. Miami is about to get their asses kicked
Man i thought after almost losing to the hawks, almost losing to philly, and almost getting swept by the heat I thought we were not in a good spot. After listening to Brad praise our dissapointing outcome i can no longer blame joe for his lack of accountability. It comes from the top. Looking forward to next years post game press conferences saying our shots just didnt fall and we just didnt have the effort tonight. Absolute garbage.
