The amount of slander the Lakers get for their 2020 Championship is unreal ๐Ÿ€๐Ÿ† Bubble or not, a ring is a ring. Which other teams would get the same level of criticism had they won the title in 2020?

I donโ€™t view the Bubble Championship as something lesser than the typical championship. The Bubble didnโ€™t allow most family members, didnโ€™t allow full coaching and training staff or normal practice schedules. Team chemistry was fully tested 24/7. It was mentally and emotionally exhausting, far beyond a typical championship run.

For me, it was far more compelling than I expected, and winning the championship was a spectacular achievement.

That 2020 team is so underrated. As much as fans complained about DG and KCP we obliterated everyone in the post season.

Just my opinion but Iโ€™m fairly confident the 2020 team is about on par with this current Nuggets team, maybe a bit better bc AD could actually shoot 3s back then and provide proper spacing

That 2020 team was something like 45-0 when leading going into the 4th

Skip bayless on the 2019 raptors title: “tainted title for toronto”

  4. BoysenberryJunior294

Bubble or not, we was winning 2020 regardless and people donโ€™t think that lol

  5. SolubleAcrobat

When people say the bubble doesn’t count, they’re not being sincere. They’re just trying to get a rise out of Lakers fans and, given how many people in this subreddit take the bait, it works.

The amount of people going full-#MAGA/Trump on the Lakers and Dodgers for 2020:

FaKe NeWs, AsTeRiSk, ALtErNaTiVe FaCtS CrEaTeD bY ThE SoCiALiSt, LiBtARd KeRsHAw MeDiA!!!

  7. rick_32

None… another version of the Lakers tax… just remember *everyone* else hates LA cuz the Lakers kept their teams from winning in 1 form or another…

  8. Plastic-Dot-9278

The more attention yall give to it the more they’ll keep doing it

  9. mjt0822

The nasty part of this narrative was that people only started saying this when the clippers blew the 3-1 lead to the nuggets(Unless y’all heard it before that).

  10. ngmathew1234

No one it had the combine caravans of Lakers haters and Lebron haters.

  11. Swaggyzilla69

It’s the Lakers plus a LeBron led team. People will say whatever they want to discredit it, even if it doesn’t make sense.

  12. Top-Consequence-911

You can’t take that stuff seriously. Only LeBron and the Lakers could get slandered for *winning* a chip. Like, think of how insane that is. What about the teams that lost? If it was so easy, wouldn’t they be slandered to no end for failing to capitalize?

  13. Whenever the people make comparisons, they always say โ€œall things being equalโ€. The bubble was literally โ€œall things being equalโ€. No crowd. Everyone in the same place. No external variables swaying it one way or another.

I hate this stupid argument. Teams that agreed to enter the bubble have all the same advantages and disadvantages. Every player and staff member that agreed to enter the bubble knew the conditions and every game from the start til the end of the bubble was all orchestrated the same. So that was a legit championship.

  15. Linnus42

I mean fans like discounting other teams titles.

So I think the Bubble title would always get slander.

How much you hear about it obviously depends on the popularity of the team that won.

  16. Sjohnsa526

I feel bad for anybody who actually gets triggered by this dumbass shit.

  17. cmondawg74

If lebron wasn’t on that team, no one would bat and eye.
Ultimately, it’s Jordan stans/lebron haters who make the bubble argument. Had lebron lost in the bubble, the narrative would immediately be omg that was the hardest title to win solely, basketball, no outside distractions. These are the same people who put kawhi on a pedestal cause he allowed lebron to score 29ppg in 2 finals series and acted like he beat a loaded warriors team despite KD and klay going down. Anything lebron related I just ignore. It’s always something with his accomplishments. But Jordan beat God, had no help, before him basketball didn’t exist, he beat terrorism, he beat Thanos, reversed time and found a cure for cancer..then out of the sheer bordem won 6 rings.

  18. SnapsOnPetro45

Literally if any other team won, nobody would say anything

  19. nickcalbear

The Bubbleship was the hardest championship in NBA history. I will die on that sword. Anyone who thinks different is a peasant.

  20. __Young__

Itโ€™s Lebron and the Lakers, people will hate just to hate because itโ€™s them.I feel like the bubble was as even playing field as you can get.No fans,no distractions, just straight up basketball.

  21. jtan619

They say the bubble dont count because everyone hates us

  22. Blue_Nyx07

all rings for the last 20 years have asterisk on them except for Dirk’s ring probably

  23. Leading_Macaron2929

Were only the Lakers in the bubble?

Did they play under the same conditions all other teams played under?

The bubble was a farce, but the ring is a ring. It’s legit.

  24. Physical-Lie-345

This recent run proves it was no fluke with a different cast of role players.

  25. von-brohenheim

I think if it was any other team people would congratulate them but since itโ€™s the Lakers itโ€™s a Mickey ring. But fuck all that noise and the haters.

  26. SabastianG

Bro, no one else talks about this but our fanbase anymore. Is it starting to get embarrassing for anyone else or just me?

  27. MrPajj83

In all honesty, who gives a flying fuck what skeptics have to say about the 2020 Chip. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy being a fan of one of the most storied franchise in all of sports history ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  28. Aja2428

Will always be one of my favorite titles. That chip was for Kobe. Fuck them haters.

  29. phixional

I donโ€™t understand why people question it the way they do. In my opinion it was the fairest itโ€™s ever been, no one team had an advantage over the others.

  30. JesusDaBeast

I donโ€™t think so but 2021 is also another disrespected title. The way Lakers fans have to hear โ€œBubble doesnโ€™t count,โ€ Bucks fans will be reminded that their title is fraudulent because of the amount of injuries that happened that season.

And yes tbf there were a LOT of injuries, but you play whoโ€™s in front of you. You canโ€™t do much about it. Both rings count the same as any other title would. End of discussion

  31. Temet21

Itโ€™s just easy to put an asterisk and weโ€™re all gonna have to live with that.
