whatever we have to do to win, I'd rather keep Anfernee Simons than Sharpe but it comes down to who has the most value that can maximize a big trade deal, probably will have to be Anfernee because of the salary aspect though.

Simons averaged 27 points in games Dame didn't play in and he's 22.I wouldn't be interested in trading him.The 3rd pick is plenty for all these non Allstars we're talking about.

Trading Sharpe could be a massive mistake. Even though we don't know for certain that he could be what we hope he is, he clearly has potential coming out of his ears. Almost no trade involving Sharpe would be worth entertaining.
That's not to say he's a guaranteed superstar, but he's definitely not just a "potential" kinda guy.
If its not Giannis or Embied or idk KD someone of that level, Id ALMOST rather see Dame go than Sharpe. If we dont get a Superstar/mvp tier player, we're not winning a championship with Dame. 5-7 years whatever Dame has left Sharpe and Ant can take over and hopefully build a good young core around them and win in 2030…. Sigh

I'd trade Dame first which they should consider. With the new CBA the Blazers are in prime position. Screw stars!! We have friendly contracts with Ant, Nurk and everyone except for Dame. We could get Robinson out of NY for Nurk and picks. Then we just need one more reliable guy for a few scrubs. Say we get Hardaway Jr and Finney Smith for Ant and the 23rd pick or Knox, Reddish or Walker.
If the Blazers get Siakam and re-sign Grant, who do you play in the putative starting line-up (Dame-Grant-Siakam-Nurk): Do you start Sharpe or Thybulle? I kinda like Sharpe as 6th man in his second season…

I agree sharpe is a great young asset. And that’s why if I was another team I would push hard for him. Do you blame them.
And since we all like sharpe so much. Can’t we all just come to the conclusion that we should just trade dame already and reset.

So it literally makes zero sense to use any young assets to get an older player who really doesn’t move the needle.
Trade dame. Get your haul of picks and one solid young player. If you do it right you’ll be be in the mix in 2-3 years.
Heck maybe even consider making a deal with OKC. Try to pluck some of their young talent and a few picks.
Get giddey Williams and a few picks for dame. Bet on your young core and your ability to draft. Bet on okc to fizzle out if dame gets old and Chet proves to be brittle or just not super good

Who knows if that team is a real playoff contender next year… but it’s set up to succeed long term. If they develop super fast then great. If they miss the playoff just add 2 more first round talents to your roster next year or use them to acquire a specific player who fits a need and their timeline.

I think another big reason for the blazers being so willing to move on from Simons is because he was a bottom ten defender in the league this year. I think that also makes it so much harder to trade Simons despite him being such a promising young player
Trade Dame man. Lets be serious. A Contender won't be built in 2 years. Trade Dame and get as much as we can get. Keep the 3rd pick and build. We will be b better off and a contender quicker if we trade Dame.
