Ideal: trade for a big due to needing a seasoned center solidifies that position and knows how to play it in the NBA & draft youthful wings since defense is a lot about effort. A lot of potential elite level defensive wings later in the 1st. Ideal trade for this to work out would have to involve Indiana just to get multiple 1stās in return this year. Iād be willing to do a THJ + 10 for Turner & both picks or THJ + Green & 10 for Turner & both picks. Green isnāt a wing & if heās starting next year this team will be very bad defensively.

I agree that Dallas needs to have a team that a threat to make a title run. Itās 100% the front officeās fault that Luka isnāt competing for a championship every year, not Lukas. Iām actually in the camp that thinks the Kyrie deal is amazing for Dallas. They can replace the players they lost in that trade, but there is NO WAY they get a second star of that caliber again. Iāll never understand mavericks fans that would rather be an early exit playoff team every single year than punt one season to put another superstar in Dallas and have a chance to REALLY compete. The mavericks are a few (very attainable) players away from being a top team in the league now, in my option. Much better than the āLuka needs helpā days. Letās see if the front office can put winning players around possibly the most potent offensive duo in the NBA.

My point is, building a contender takes time. But it has to start somewhere. And it begins by finding the core of your team and sticking with them through multiple years.
Timeline-wise and depending on what happens on draft night, I feel like Luka, Kyrie, Hardy, and Green will form the core of this team moving forward whereas previously it was Luka and KP.
So my question is, do the core of Luka-Kyrie-Hardy-Josh Green a potential contending core in the next 3 – 4 years?
