Because he was out of rotation with the new coach. I was much more hyped about him when he was actually playing lol
Our team in general is very slow laterally. Bey, Griffin, and Jalen all share the weakness of having trouble keeping guys in front of themselves.
Obviously, it’s something that can be worked on and developed past, but it’s hard to give Griffin minutes when he shared such a blatant weakness with so much of our existing wing rotation.
I think a new defensive scheme helps hide a lot of our lateral slowness, so it’ll be interesting to see what the rotation looks like next year.
Compare AJ with the other handful of NBA wings that produced as a teenager and youll see they are mostly hall of famers like Kobe, Tmac, Lebron etc.
He’s gonna be VERY important this season!
Hope we get to see him more. Straight DNPs down the stretch and he’s already one of our best shooters.
