Yeah we settled for close and mid range shots a lot rather than directly attacking the basket, didn’t think there was many missed calls

The Heat coach makes a statement about his team.

    Heat fan base he’s wrong!

  3. BabaBrody

No harm in trying the reverse psychology approach.

  4. Equivalent_Bat1816

He’s full of shit. Clearly rigged.

  5. Traditional-Ad-7786

Spo is my favorite coach of all time in all sports.

  6. RansomGoddard

I agree with Spo, who pretty much never complains about officiating anyway.

There were at most three calls where I thought we should have gone to the line but that’s not a lot nor is it anywhere close to the reason we lost.

  7. farfetchchch

I thought the reffing was pretty good compared to the earlier series. The Boston Miami one was really bad.

  8. Between3and20again

    Does this guy even circlejerk?

  9. rsayegh7

Hairs on the back of Stever Kerr’s neck just stood straight up.

  10. respect. I legit thought they probably only deserved another 2 free throws. surprisingly well-disciplined game from the nuggs.

  11. Jicama-Smart

wait… he’s supposed to complain here…. it says it in the script….

  12. thehugster

Love all the r/nba comments here calling out other head coaches after generating whole megathraeds complaining about officiating

  13. Nice to see a HC who isn’t a cry baby. Talking to you Steve Kerr.

  14. KuruptingtheYouth

Ya I thought game 1 was reffed pretty well, hoping it stays that way the whole series. Really just hoping spo figures out some magic solution to keep the series competitive too but goddamn denver is so fucking good lol

  15. Damedius33

Most of the Heat fouls were on layups/dunks by the Nuggets.

  16. Mountain_Affect-2

As a Lakers fan this man just spoke the magic words to me.

    Always been a Spo fan.

  17. LeAnthonyJavis

It’s refreshing to hear a coach say this

  18. Ok_Librarian2474

Never liked him more than this moment

  19. SirGuerbiz

I mean FT disparity is one thing but idgaf how big it is as long as there isn’t a disparity in the missed calls.

  20. Props to Spo for being straight about this and using it to motivate his players instead of whining about officiating to try and get soft calls next game.

  21. Iceraptor17

Free throw disparity is one of the laziest ways to judge reffing. If one team is playing sloppy defense or is often out of position they’re going to foul more. If a team is taking multiple mid range and 3 pt jump shots there’s a good chance they’re going to the line less.

Yes, sometimes it’s a red flag. But sometimes it’s what it should be

  22. Cheffie

God I hate the Heat…but I respect Spo so much and wish he were coaching my team.

  23. carbine23

Maybe we could’ve gotten some easy calls I’d say 4-6 more ??? But that shit wouldn’t change anything at all we’d still lose that game.

  24. xMarioTheSupahx

The Heat settled for jump shots and didn’t attack the rim. 2 is extremely low and just further shows the lack of aggression when the shots weren’t falling. Nuggets struck first and stopped the Heat from getting the first win. There should be some adjustments but Nuggets seem like they’ll handle it and try to counter with one of their runs. Both teams weren’t great from 3 so could be a higher scoring game on Sunday

  25. Llama_Sandwich

ESPN: Erik Spoelstra won’t fight for his team to the media. Troubles in the locker room?

  26. Btotherianx

You mean how I got mass downvoted for this exact opinion when the coach even agrees with me 😂 there were probably four or five free throws left on the floor for the heat that we’re not called. Probably an equal number for the nuggets.

The game was not called unfairly in any way

  27. Johnpecan

    >I felt the free-throw disparity was

Here we go again, with each coach making their generic statement on some predictable plea to get better calls.

    >appropriate.

    Oh.

  28. JemorilletheExile

This series is so polite. Just two teams that respect each other and are trying their best. After the series ends they will line up to do high fives and say good game, and then they will all go out to pizza and ice cream.

  29. ienjoybasketball24

mike malone would literally be crying

  30. FrenzyTotems

If it was the lakers is instead of the nuggets, oh man it’s rigged, according to warriors fans
