Nick Nurse Discusses Coaching Goals, Joel Embiid, and Why He’s Excited to be in Philadephia
Get to know Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse in his first sit-down interview with team reporter, Lauren Rosen. Nick dives talks about the team, coaching Joel Embiid and his approach for the upcoming season.
First coach who will hold our entitled players accountable (particularly James). Nurse will be the first coach in Joel's career who will demand the best out of him.
“Ownership is second to none” is a big bowl of bullsh*t! This is one of thee worst owners in the whole damn league. They mishandled the whole goddamn process. The are great business venture capitalists but horrible basketball minds.
Following the Sixers past year: Think they're up next for the championship. Nick was almost in the identical situation he had in 2019 and bc he keeps mentioning he expects players coming in I can see NN doing the same thing with the Raptors and bring them over the hump. All he really needs is a star, he can figure out the rest
What i like about Nick Nurse is that he doesnt have to have all of the advantages. He just has to know YOUR disadvantages and he punishes you for them.

Because the most important distinction in all of this is that Nurse was the most sought-after HC and chose to come here with a couple other contenders offering him as well. This is not a guy who needed a job so he sold himself to us, we had to sell out situation to him, which is much more positive than fans think. We are a serious contender with Embiid and Maxey period.
Horrible interview how do you not ask about James harden. We all know embid is the league MVP but we did not get one mvp performance an the playoffs. We got two from harden expectations was key this season and Joel didn’t come thru. I believe harden can flourish and nurse system.
The only time Nurse made it out the 2nd round was against the choking 76ers themselves. This hire won’t do anything in the playoffs because Embiid stinks as a 1st option in May
