Idk seemed like good strategy to me
I agree, lots of open threes they allowed and tons of missed shots from their end in the second half
But the game still wasn’t even close
They didn’t, and still steamrolled the Heat. Series is already over
Yeah, it worked out for them game 1 but I doubt Denver wants Miami to get even half those open looks next game.
What’s the best site to track how many open 3s a team gets? Just the regular NBA one?
I love listening to his coaching because he rattles off stats like no other lol
I hate the way people look at sports.
Everything is always based on how one team played, they eliminate the other team’s ability, they eliminate luck and variables. They eliminate defense as part of a performance.
Every time a team gets off to a huge lead and the other team inevitably comes back and gets close, it’s always a “disappointment” or they took their “foot of the gas”.
Or maybe, you can’t sustain that shooting throughout an entire game and the other team’s shots will start falling? Are they supposed to just lay over and die?
You can’t have everything go your way just because you thought you prepared well. It’s like people are searching for some imaginary perfect game as if that’s the norm. So dumb.
People want so bad to believe one team or one player is “in control” like they’re a superhero or something. There’s too much randomness in sports for that.
Sports culture is so far behind in teams of reality and intelligence.
It was a bad game for us for sure. Jokic just an average game for him. KCP was not good offensively Perimeter D was not good with all the open 3s. But yet we won by double figures with one of our worst games.
He’s right. Heat got very good looks from 3 but they didn’t fall. Either it’s 1 bad shooting night, altitude, or just falling off, conceding open 3’s isn’t a consistent winning strategy against this heat team.
Celtics fans trying to blame this on Mazzulla…
Strus and Martin were a combined **3 points, 1 / 17 from the field** and Miami lost by 11. Game was a lot closer than the score suggests.
Glad he saw it too. They give Miami those same shots and they win game 2 with ease
Same thing can be said for Denver’s shooting. Three pointers did not decide game 1, in those scenarios Denver is definitely better off
Anytime I see problematic I can’t help but song that damn song.
This is why Denver needs to be careful Miami is sure to bring it with more energy in game 2 and its gonna be way harder game
That’s what really impressed/killed me in rd2. They always found an open man deep. In rd1 Hart was talking about rebounds that kill teams. You’ll good D for 23 secs and then boom open 3. It’s fucking gutting as a fan
People focus on Miami having a bad shooting night. But Denver also had one their worst shooting nights from 3 for the playoffs. I would expect both teams to improve.
But if both Denver and Miami shoot better, Denver still wins. Miami has to shoot better and defend better in the paint
I was at the game. Really, neither team played all that well. But the Nuggets found a way to win 🙂
Theyre not even looking at the heat theyre always trying to improve their own plays
Pretty goated
Yeah that was honestly a B to a B+ game from Denver.
I hope this shuts up people who think the nuggets are okay with Miami getting Wide open shots lol
It’s not a rui situation
Neither team was at their best tbh
Oh shiiiii it’s done
Nuggets are lucky they keep winning because they’re getting blown out night after night on moral victories
To have a coach that cares about defense…
Had Miami just made 25% of those, they would’ve won
Oh wait, that’s not the strategy???
And that’s the mentality we need. We can always do better
