[Scotto] Sources: Celtics assistants Ben Sullivan, Mike Moser and Garrett Jackson are joining Ime Udoka’s staff on the Rockets, @hoopshype has learned. Celtics assistant Aaron Miles has drawn interest from the Rockets and other teams. Jarrell Christian has also drawn interest from teams.

Staff was already pretty thin, must literally just be Mazzulla watching videos of dying children by himself….

Aaron Miles is already going to Houston too. Boston Globe reported this days ago.

Oh wow, he got kicked out of the bar so he’s taking all his buddies with him.

Could this be a good thing though for the Celtics actually? I feel like Mazzulla being able to build his own staff – potentially with some more experienced assistants to balance out his youthful exuberance – could be helpful.

Jaylen Brown YOU are a Houston Rocket

This is hilarious and also kinda shows that Ime Udoka’s situation did not impact his relationships at all. Players were openly supporting him. The guy got hired 1 year later and brought many of the staff from his previous job with him. Hilarious.

We could look at this like it’s a huge problem, or we could look at it as Joe having the opportunity to build his staff from the ground up. We already knew this was likely to happen, and these guys were Ime’s picks anyway. Time to see what kind of staff he can put together with a full offseason and what kind of direction we’ll go in.

The benefit of a quality supporting coaching staff is something that a lot of fans often overlook. Joe finally has the opportunity to build up an arguably pretty lackluster coaching bench with his own picks. I expect the Celtics to be significantly better in that regard next season.

Good things the Celtics have a coach and GM who have been around the league and have connections from their playing days.

There’s only so many times you can rewatch “The Town” during film session until you need a change of scenery.

Really cool to see Ime hiring all these Portland guys. Moser, Jackson, and Miles all played HS in the area

    Is Houston keeping Mahmoud Abdelfattah

  12. YanksCelticsGiants

Can’t believe we threw away our championship window for Joe Mazzulla. One of the most absurd things I’ve ever seen

  13. _Zap_Rowsdower_

Someone needs to tell us what Udoka did in Boston already.

  14. JonA3531

Just promote Al Horford into player – ast. coach position

  15. Geecchie_Wiley

A year is a long time to go without having sex, which is apparently prohibited in Boston. I think we should be happy for these guys.

  16. ruthkanda_4evar

They probably just like Udoka more than Mazulla and think he’s a better coach.

  17. Lake_Shore_Drive

Nepotism or whatnot. Why would you hire coaches from a team that looked poorly coached? Boston seemed to perform below their talent level, lack focus and game plan.

Pro coaches fail upward more than any other job

Now second row Joe and puppet master Stevens can hire a fresh coaching staff.

  19. Belfura

Mazzula will most likely be fine. Even in the case that he doesn’t have his own connections, the Celtics are big organization, so they definitely will find good people.

I’m more interested in seeing what Udoka is going to cook

  20. jayelecfan

took the entire coaching staff with him lmao

  21. JengaKing12

Great news for Houston especially the Sullivan hire. Expect a lot of their guys to get more efficient from three

  22. aeiou-y

Rockets getting an nba finals capable staff. Was a good move for them.

  23. leeguel

Those guys arnt worth a fuck. Sure didn’t seem to help Joe much this season(tell him to call a damn TO). Just Udoka cronies

Also it’s crazy Ime went from coaching a championship contender to an AAU team (basically)

  24. kaozennrk

Ooh that’s not good. That speaks to something wrong in the Celtics coaching/management organization. hmmm. not good.

  25. Yetipits

Never should’ve gotten fired in the first place
