I could see him becoming kind of the heir apparent to Patty Mills in some ways. Not trying to say he’ll ever be quite that level of player, or human being, that Patty was since he’s special.

But in the brief moments he was here, he genuinely seemed like a guy who was all in on helping a nurturing the kids and seem to have a really fun vibrant personality, and the dude can definitely get hot from three that’s for sure

I was a bit bummed when we moved on from Richardson less about losing his game and more about losing his veteran presence and personality with a team. So it was a pleasant surprise to go from one seemingly high character veteran to another

I know many people view Graham as replaceable on this rebuilding young team and I count myself among those who has felt as much

But I have a feeling he could be a surprise next year and a piece whose game really helps accentuate and bring out the best in this roster now that we have a centerpiece and the rest of the team is hopefully healthy

I think Graham was a decent get and more what the Spurs needed in terms of on court (mostly from a positional POV) than JRich. Getting 4 SRPs in the exchange certainly helps.

Not that he’s even remotely a foundational piece, he could be a decent role player for this team and seeing him in the light of a quality guy with good character, that’s a good thing.

He provides a look for the Spurs that we haven’t had. He is of course not elite, but could be moderately productive in a reserve role. We haven’t had a quick lead guard that’s a quick trigger pull-up threat. He might top out as Doller General Dame and eventually be shuffled off the roster when an opportunity presents its self, but in the mean time, I think he can and will provide some quality bench minutes for the Spurs.

The Spurs tank job was masterful for many reasons and among them was not loading the roster with garbage to jettison overboard once we scored the big prize in the draft. Everyone here has a role and an opportunity. Not everyone is going to be able to go along for the full ride back into being NBA contenders and that’s the rough part of the business, but there’s really no one here that’s complete roster filler and only good for losing as many games as possible like we have seen with other tanks.
