Portland Trail Blazers #3 Pick | 2023 NBA Mock Draft

Kelcey Wright Johnson and Jason Quick discuss their prediction on who the Trail Blazers should select. The Blazers need help in the wing area and they need an impact starter level player, suggesting Alabama’s Brandon Miller. Miller’s height and length can help with their undersized team issues, and his shooting ability can be a valuable asset, especially when playing alongside Damian Lillard. The Trail Blazers need to address their defense weakness and Miller’s length can potentially make him a good defender. In terms of trading, quickly mentioning that O.G. Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors may be a good fit for the Blazers as they need a top-level defender who can also hit a three. Overall, it seems like the Blazers made a good pick with Brandon Miller assuming they keep the pick.

  1. If they pick Miller at #3 then maybe Thybulle is still your starting wing with Dame and Ant if he's not traded or Sharpe if he is, then Grant and Nurkic for your starting 5. Then Miller would be scoring off of the bench. If Shaedon is still coming off the bench that'd be a pretty good 1 -2 punch off the bench. And if you fill out the roster with some veterans then that could be a competitive team. Maybe not contenders but definitely competitive in the West. Who knows maybe you make a swing at the trade deadline for a solid playoff push.
