Dereck Lively II gets a workout today. I do believe he’s a Klutch kid and would be in play at 17th for us. Off his college tape he’s a Mitchell Robinson type defender and athlete. He didn’t show much of anything offensively at Duke, but at the Klutch Pro Day he was draining threes and looked pretty comfortable.

In a thin Center draft, he’s the biggest name outside Wembenyama, a former #1 recruit. He’d be a great pick who could fill a need right away while also having a little room to grow as well.

Interesting piece, great weak-side rim protector and shots looking like itā€™s coming around. Best center prospect in the draft so probably gone to by then, feels like at Dallas with the 10th type of selection.

  3. He’d be a great pick, he’s got amazing size and great athleticism and he’s not a twig who’s gonna need to put a ton of weight. He can give the Lakers 12-15 mins behind AD his first year and spot start on rest days. Long term he could develope an outside shot which he showed in HS but not as much in college. Good upside and fits a need

Yes! Been saying we should pick (*pun) him up

I like him fine but like other options better

Didnā€™t he also cancel a warriors workout today?

I really donā€™t want a one dimensional player with that pick. He does fill a need and I trust the FO but heā€™s like the last of the acceptable players there imo.

    Cason is my dream scenario

  8. I really want him to fall to #17. His defense is going to allow him to get minutes as he develops his offensive game to be a bigger contributor. At worst he’s a McGee type for 10-15mpg in his rookie season, and honestly he might be better defensively because guys this tall shouldn’t move so fluidly when defending the perimeter. He’s a freaking unicorn if that 3 ball starts falling. It’s crazy to think this team might be able to land this kid at 17 when his ceiling is comparable to Mitchell Robinson but with the potential to space the floor

It would be so great to get him

He was the number 2 player in the country coming out of highschool I just don’t think he a super great freshman year but has all the potential in the world, would be a great pickup at 17 and could play the 5 when he’s in a let AD play the 4

He’d be a great pick.. He’s gonna be like Javale for the team.

I doubt they draft a rookie Center given how long it takes for them to develop. Walker Kessler who I wished the Lakers drafted last year, was an obvious exception. Just keep Mo and see if you can get something out of him.
