im with Eric, Portland has to prioritize SF/PF/C (Dame simons sharpe more the enough guards)
1) IF we drafts Miller i would KEEP him (no good return as Scoot unfortunately). Hes an elite 3point shooter that Portland was desperately looking for in the last decade. in that case we maybe trade Simons (only for a good return) for a quality 3&D PF or C and some backup PG (or some draft picks that can be used for mid-season trade)
2) if we draft Scoot, Portland should list him for an unbelievably high price (packaged with fillers like Reddish/Knox/Nas/Watfod that we dont want)
3) Draft back for 4-7 pick and get some quality player and 1st round picks back (so we still draft some quality top 10 pick)
A lot of whining about not going into the tax & not going all in to get "Dame's guys" and how if Cronin doesn't get more old, supermax guys we'll know he & Jodie are not trying to win. What if Cronin's just smart/observant enough to know throwing $60, $45, $35, & $18 mil @Dame, Brown, Grant & Nurk is a waste of money & assets? Maybe the reset that sends u into a hissy fit is really the best possible move for the franchise. A lot of folks have forgotten there's a whole franchise that needs to be focused on, not just one guy no matter how long he's been here losing.
Now if we trade Dame, Ant, Sharpe & Miller won't trust the team and they'll ask out after seeing such betrayal. 🙄

If we build a winner with this young dynamic core and they become a powerhouse contending yearly they will stay. You never saw Steph/Klay/Draymond crying cause GS got rid of David Lee. Pascal, OG, VanVleet never crapped on Toronto cause they "betrayed" DeRozan. Players know it's a business and careers have a shelf life. They won't be crying in the corner about poor old $600 million dollar Dame. 🤦🏽♂️🙄

This feels like a hit job on Scoot. Bring down what his potential can be to prove your points. I agree that trading Dame to replace him with a rookie would make our team a lil worse. But our future could "possibly" be in great hands in drafting Scoot. TBH, U guys & the media sure do pump up a guy to be "the greatest Blazer of all time in Damian Lillard in which his best accomplishments is personal ones. All star appearances, ROY, All NBA teams etc. He made it to the WCF once & got embarrassed. With Bill Walton winning the teams only 'chip, how is it that Dame or Clyde is the Blazers

Scoot is the best prospect in the draft. He checks all the boxes. If he falls to Portland they must draft him and make it work. Everyone is right. Wemby doesn’t have the body to withstand the grind. Miller has too much growing up to do. Ala Ja Morant.
If scoot & Wemby are gone by the 3rd pick Portland really needs to trade the pick.
Jody is not getting nothing for selling the team she would just have to wait for the trust to sell off all its assets and then she’ll be paid big time! Trustees get around 1-2% annually of total assets until the trust is exhausted, so let’s say total assets is 40 billion she’s being paid 400-800 million a year as the trustee. When the trust has no more assets and is depleted she will get about 10-20% payout of all total assets including the sell of the blazers, so if she sold off everything at 40 billion she’s getting a 4-8 billion payout. She could sell the team and still collect her trustees 1-2% annually until the trust is over but why she’s not is still a mystery.
Here's a thought. Secret deal with Paul Allen was made where Dame could buy the team when he's done playing for his loyalty to Portland. Thus Jody isn't selling until this happens.
Funny enough, on Bill Simmons pod, he and Ruesillo went through Dame trades and found none that made sense. Dame ain’t going anywhere.
