I get the admiration of the big 3 but the discussion have gone too much about what they did and not what they can do now. Getting good role players isn’t going to cut it. We lost to Lakers in 6 who literally got swept to Nuggets. Draymond is a offensive liability who gets exposed in modern defensive schemes. He can’t cover that all in defense. Similarly Klay was the best second option in NBA for a long time but now play’s more to silence doubters than win. He has literally costed us games because of his need to keep shooting the glory shot.
Both the last two playoff series we won were because we went away from motion offense to a pick and role offense that will hide the weakness of Draymond. Klays inability to drive to the basket means all he will get are tough shots in motion offense.
We need a second star who can create for others as well as score himself, something this team desperately lacks. Without Steph we have been one of the worst offense in the NBA history. Poole hasn’t stepped up and he along with Klay and Draymond should all be on the chopping block. Kuminga and moody rarely got any meaningful time so I still trust them to come good but as of now we need to step out of nostalgia and get that the best way to win now is to trade atleast one or both of the big 3 guys and get a proper second star
Attaching the playoffs stats to show how outside of Steph we have absolutely 0 offense.

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking. How come your second option on offense is a guy averaging 18 points on 38% field goal. That’s so ass.
And how exactly do we turn no second start into a second star and still have the ability to fill out the starting roster plus key reserves? What we need and what we can get may be two separate things.
So who could this second star be?
Go after Brook Lopez or Myles Turner and bank on Poole/Klay/Wiggins being as good as they were in 2022.
Ok sure, but we’re paying four guys like they are second stars. That’s a huge problem.
Management needs to forego courtside tickets and invite white baddies.
4 guys on this team next season with the exception of Wiggins a little bit will be earning 25mil + and none of them can reliably score 25ppg or even 20ppg when it matters most. And the FO will have problems replacing them or flat out don’t want to and that’s a problem that will be hard to resolve, because with Steph making 50mil, the next highest paid player **must** be a huge and consistent contributor on offense if not this team is in a very bad spot
I would say second option. Might be hard to get a real star. But your instinct is correct IMO. Steph is getting older and Wiggs, Klay and Dray are role players.
Poole, Kuminga plus Moody and picks for a star would be great tho.
> [Draymond[ can’t cover that all in defense.
Yes he can, and some. There’s more to basketball than PPG.
Klank for Siakam or beal needs to happen
