Chris Paul speaks on what was going on leading up to him leaving New Orleans. If more people heard about this, do you think fans would stop booing him?

    >In an interview with GQ Magazine, NBA star Chris Paul was asked about his thoughts on the city of New Orleans. Paul, who grew up in the city and played for the New Orleans Pelicans, was critical of the city’s infrastructure and its leadership. “The city is messed up,” Paul told GQ. ” The infrastructure is messed up. The mayor is messed up. The city council is messed up. We need a complete overhaul.” Paul’s comments come as the city of New Orleans is still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina

    Yep, I’m still booing

I’ve been a fan since CP3 was playing here so I always liked him, but this made me appreciate him even more

  3. I’ve never blamed CP3 for leaving NOLA under the circumstances that he did. It was a real shitshow back then, with no owner and a very uncertain future. It’s ashamed that Benson didn’t step up and buy the team sooner. I don’t like the kind of player that he’s become, the way he hunts for fouls especially, but I totally get why he wanted out of here when he did. It’s time for the booing to stop.

Demanding a trade leads to boos, it just happens. I know the franchise has been extremely unstable since it’s creation, but a demand is a demand.

But that being said, I still do love Chris. He’s my favorite non-Pels player and always has been. I hope one day he’ll be welcomed back with open arms, because you can tell he still gives a damn about the city and community. Davis never bought in… and it showed.

He’s the greatest player in franchise history. Maybe BI or Zion pass him, but he’s a legend. When he goes into the Hall of Fame, everyone will say his best seasons were in New Orleans.

  5. I’ll never hate on cp for leaving Nola. It was no secret the team business was on the decline. I remember going to a game and they didn’t even have Coke products it was RC cola. He lobbied to get a players in Nola after the 08 season but the owner had to interest in the team much less spending money on players. Can dislike him for the cheap shots in the suns series but can’t hate him for leaving.

Fans don’t hate CP3 bc he left NOLA. Fans hate him for his actions while a Sun.

  7. The thing that got to me and still pisses me off about him to this day is the first time we played the Clippers after the trade when someone on our team got injured and was laying out on the floor we went to intentionally foul CP3 so we could get the injured player off and CP3 decided to hurl up a 3 from past half court to get 3 free throws. It just showed a lack of sportsmanship and especially when the injured player was a teammate last year. Since then he has consistently done shitty/dirty things on the court so honestly in my mind, it’s still fuck’em
