It’s still way too early to say for certain and this could be a smoke screen to get a team to jump up for scoot, too. But in previous drafts the big wings have been going higher than guards.
That would be such a Hornets move.
Both KOC and Givony from ESPN rank Miller above Scoot.
This makes Portland more likely to try to trade either Dame or the 3rd pick because you can’t have Simmons, Dame, and Scoot. Three small guards can’t be your three best players.
Dame is playing in Portland next year, and the Blazers are taking the pick whether it’s Scoot or Miller. My prediction.
Doesn’t necessarily mean anything for a team that wanted to trade for Scoot. Maybe Charlotte looks at Miller as a 7.5 out of 10 and Scoot a 7.2 out of 10. And Portland looks at Scoot as a 8.1 out of 10 and Miller as a 7.7 out of 10. In that case, it’d still be easier to trade with Charlotte.
It’s in their best interest to make Portland believe that, true or not.
I think Miller would be the clear number 2 pick if he didn’t have the off the court issues. A bit surprised the Hornets would choose to deal this that after the year they had.

I bet this is a smokescreen and Charlotte will take Scoot. Remember when Jabari Smith Jr was gonna go 1st overall?
Wolves need to get really aggresive here. Try to work in a 3rd team if needed.
If it came down to it, I’m doing it for Scoot + salary filler… no picks or other players needed.
