Well when a great center often compared to Embiid is in the Finals, the comparisons aren’t gonna stop, especially if these people like Jokic.

  2. fantasyfirst

Its pretty pathetic how obsessed people are in their hatred of Embiid. Also pretty sad as a Sixers fan that the Sixers/Embiid constantly collapse in the playoffs and give the haters more fuel.

  3. OverlyAloofGargoyle

It would be the exact same if the situations were reversed, let’s not kid ourselves.

Nuggets fans get to have their moment because their guy didn’t choke on historic fashion. If you want it differently, I don’t know, I guess just hope it doesn’t happen again next year?

  4. Ronshol

We just have to sit and take it. It’s on Embiid to prove em wrong if he can.

  5. HunnidBandzAltom

It’s sucks but it’s the truth, this team can’t win. And to make it worse Jokic is winning FMVP.

  6. SomeGuyNamedJohn12

At this point we can’t do anything but let them get their jokes off. Embiid is our guy but damn he did not show up when he needed to

  7. martymoran

if we’re redrafting who you taking joel embiid or nikola jokic?

  8. LordLucasSixers

I fell to my knees in a Wawa when I realized Embiid wasn’t HIM.

  9. mistergrape

I’m content knowing how they play against each other.

The post about embiid shooting that poorly from 3 did make me wonder why there was such a massive drop off from 3 this year. There is a lot of stuff we need embiid to improve that are more of a priority of course. Sure we don’t want him to shoot a lot. But most of the 3s he get are open ones so for him to shoot that poorly really isn’t acceptable.

r/nba will be absolutely insufferable if the Nuggets win it all

  12. stiljo24

Like this wouldn’t be us too, though.

Let them have their time, we need to earn any worthwhile clapback.

  13. jpk7220

Why does this sub act like they don’t do the same shit and would be doing the same shit if the rules were reversed?

Embiid won MVP so he has to live up to it or face the backlash.

  14. handbanana84

    you guys started it

daily defensive low-lights, even pulled a race card

now sit there and take it

    you know you like it

  15. misterlibby

To the victor go the spoils. It’s our (well deserved) L and we need to accept it, don’t be a baby.

We would absolutely be gloating to all our perceived enemies if we were in the Nuggets’ shoes

  16. wontonloup8

Embiid was the better regular season player when you take defense into account and not just advanced stats – simple as that. And what happened to their narrative of “76ers are still a good team without embiid but the nuggets wouldn’t make the playoffs without Jokic.” Absolute joke of a fanbase.

What do Jokic and Murray do so differently?

Idk maybe play an entirely different kind of basketball with an entirely different roster in an entirely different organization.

Also comparing Murray’s and Embiid’s playoff performances over the last three years is fucking wild, literally what’s the point? That kind of comparison only comes from someone looking to hate.

This is honestly just sad, your teams in the finals and all you can do is think about a team that hasn’t played for weeks. Thought the first post was r/nbacirclejerk that’s how sad it is.

  18. billiam31983

Just ignore them. I honestly don’t understand why anyone looks at r/nba or cares what anyone there has to say.

  19. kylebucket

This sub was jerking off Jimmy pre and post playoff exit. Relax.

  20. tigerpawn

No need to take it personally. Let them cook, Jokic is playing great. When Jokic (with and without Murray) fell in the playoffs, lots of people gloated. Turntables.

  21. flyingpanda5693

Can we stop acting like the Nuggets have some insane level of playoff success?
2018/19 – lost in the conference semis
2019/20 – lost In conference finals in the bubble
2020/21 – lost in conference semis
2021/22 – lost in the first round.

  22. MumenriderPaulReed69

Joel should have beaten the Celtics. If he had beaten them in 6 I have no doubt we beat the heat and he could have gone toe to toe with Jokic. Sucks they didn’t want it bad enough.

  23. jawntothefuture

It is what it is. Embiid 100% earned the MVP this year as much as the haters may think otherwise. Jokic has been the MVP/best player in the world these playoffs and Embiid crumbled. Joel better step the fuck up in the playoffs going forward if he wants to be viewed as the most dominant player in the game!

  24. SkyMiteFall

Lebron, 10 years ago, was the last player to win MVP and Finals MVP the same season.

People just can’t learn the difference.

I’ve been saying it for years now: Jokic has a better team, it was constructed perfectly FOR him and only him. As long as Embiids been a star the team was also built to cover for Ben Simmons ass..and even after he left we had to deal with Tobias’ horrible contract..imagine if Ben developed and he shot the mf ball..promise you we’d be in the finals before the nuggets.

But that’s all just whatever..the nuggets are in the finals and that still doesn’t change finals vs regular season mvp

  25. quacks_holligan

It’s not Embiid’s fault. People just weren’t ready to catapult Jokic to the best player in the league. Steph went through a period too before people finally decided to rank him decisively above Lebron or as GOAT shooter.

Embiid has a few more chances to flip the script. I honestly thought 2021 would be his peak and his one lightning in a bottle chance of winning MVP, but he’s gotten better each consecutive season.

  26. Prestigious-Rock201

LMFAOOO yea I’m good dealing with these kiddos. I’m only going to be focusing on the eagles maybe Phillies when next sixers season comes around

  27. thisisbyrdman

I dont understand why anyone cares what reddit incels say about anything. Who the hell cares about this?

  28. Embiid was never a protagonist in the playoffs. So…

  29. TheFaytalist

    And yet…They’re right.

Jokic is absolutely the better NBA player.

I keep saying this, but Embiid needed an ISO offense and a coach that would yell at other players if they didn’t give him the ball, and he barely inched out Jokic. Jokic just about matched Embiid’s performance but in a proper offense that doesn’t flow through him. You wanna talk about people that only look at stats and not intangible, non-recordable things? There’s the biggest one right there. And I’m not even gonna talk about the playoffs.

Let’s just say Jokic getting finals MVP is poetic justice. I know Embiid is our guy but at some point you need to be objective here and call it right.

  30. allenad3213

We deserve all of this. So does Embiid. I hope Denver wins so Embiid sees what it takes and finally grows up when the stakes are real.

  31. Nid0k1ng

Embiid deserves it honestly, he talked shit and did these interviews about the MVP shit and he played like crap when it mattered most. His conditioning is still terrible. Meanwhile Jokic is playing 44 minutes and proving he is the best player in the world and likely by a wide margin.
