[Mark Giannotto] It appears Adam Silver is going to make sure Ja Morant doesn’t distract from the NBA Finals by talking about Ja Morant before every game of the NBA Finals. Bold strategy.

  1. Dude teasing the suspension like a mixtape drop.

  2. blinkhit

i mean thats what theyre asking him about

  3. techreppit

I mean if he announced the punishment it would also get talked about everyday.

  4. bach_inblack

It’s 100% intentional to draw more attention from casuals or non-fans to the NBA finals.

  5. virgilkai77

I don’t think it’s distracting at all. Dan Patrick went through various topics and Ja topic was very mild. The actual suspension would’ve 100% taken over the Finals talk but rn it’s just an aside.

  6. JakeJacob

My wife is already quipping about the snore-fest that is Adam Silver talking for what feels like hours before every game.

  7. Lorjack

Going to be so much teasing and just watch the actual announcement won’t be a severe as people think it will be.

  8. respaaaaaj

Silver knows as well as we do that professional sports are desperate housewives for men and acts accordingly

  9. DynamixRo

Thought this Ja suspension tease was dropped just to hold us over while actual basketball was still going on. Since then we’ve had Kyrie doing his thing, Zion baby mama drama, Dame talking about his dream destination, CP3 getting maybe-waived, Dwight’s Taiwan contract situation, that chef talking about how Baron Davis hit him, Paul Pierce hooking up on stream, and I’m probably missing some other stuff.

    This off-season should be fun.

  10. I’m expecting either kicked out of the league, a year’s suspension, or, far more likely, an underwhelming 20 games.

Guess it just depends if he actually pointed a gun at the Pacer’s player

  11. RedDragons8

Someone ask him about his thoughts on Zions thots.

  12. Ja’s shoes made more money than this years finals

  13. terrysaxkler

The NBA is going all in on drama. I bet Zion is in a loving, committed relationship with his baby mama and Silver hired Moriah Mills to get people talking.

  14. ChoiceStar1

LOL my thought exactly… dude makes announcements that new info and talks about how he won’t talk about Ja…

Just say we are not talking about Ja until the finals are over from the start… someone asks… next question

Dude just needs to shut up and stop distracting

  15. General_Industry4619

They are going to execute Ja on live TV just after the finals trophy ceremony.

  16. Alpha_King007

That’s a bold strategy, Cotton. Let’s see if it pays off.

  17. Jameszhang73

If they really wanna go WWE with this, they should do a live stream after the finals of Adam Silver at the gun range. The target has circles with different degrees of punishments and the world watches as Silver decides his fate.

  18. RedditUser538xxx

I agree should have just said the punishment after game 1 and it would have died down. He could have also said they’re still investigating and left it at that.

  19. QbertRegionalChamp

I’m ready to say Silver is a bad commissioner

  20. SurlyWet

NBA clearly wants as much attention on this as possible, especially during slow news cycle hint hint

  21. cyrusthemarginal

Has he tried saying Blah blah blah and changing into a bat to fly away? It could work!

  22. AngryNephew

I think he threw that shit out there intentionally, by the time Finals are over and he announces his decision the surrounding conversation gonna water all the scenarios down so much, whatever it is at the end will seem fine.

  23. guffzillar

I thought that was pretty dumb too “We’re not going to distract from the finals by announcing his punishment” – dude, why even mention it then

  24. Zachkah

So stupid of him to even say anything about him before the series started. He could have said “we’re gathering info and will have more answers down the line” and that would have been it. But, now, it seems like he’s hyping the press release of the suspension like a fucking marvel movie

  25. craftbeerlink

What a dumb fucking take from a member of the media, considering any time he’s talked about it, it has been because someone from the media asked him about it. And he’s only replied with slight variations of the same exact non-answer.

  26. Atl-Fan_FTS

I really don’t know what to say anymore

  27. ZachMich

Its not his fault he gets asked about it. I bet this same person would have a problem if Silver declined to comment about it, probably speculating that he isn’t taking it seriously

  28. ZachMich

Its not distracting from the finals at all imo. And he obviously gets asked about it

  29. Littlejaguar

I mean you guys keep asking him about it

  30. BenShelZonah

Why is he even being punished, he’s an adult and this is America. I’m not really pro gun like I used to be but he’s allowed to have a gun 🤷‍♂️

  31. FateRiddle

“Why is Dame talking about Loyalty again out of the blue for the 99th time?”

“Well, he was asked by a reporter.”

  32. Kaisky123xc

All this drama lately just to distract us from the finals

  33. Turbulent-Sky-5568

He better announce it at the trophy presentation

  34. Veggiedelite90

I wish this tweet had ended with “it’s a bold strategy cotton”

  35. james_randolph

He’s playing both sides, so he always comes out on top.
