Lively at 10 shouldnt be an option. It would be a huge reach. If we trade down and get an additional asset that would help, I wouldnt mind him… but people have to understand that he will not help our team next season. He is a prospect that needs time. The Kessler comparison doesnt fit, cause Kessler was way more polished then him.
And if it comes to floor/ceiling… floor is WCS, ceiling is Allen.
As a Duke fan who has watched majority of Duke games Dallas needs to pick up this guy at the very least heās and upgrade from Powell at the worst. He fits what Dallas needs very well
If all the forwards are gone and we trade #10 to get a good starter in the front court or dump bertans in a trade back and get lively i wouldnt be mad
The ideal situation is trade with the hawks (15 and hunter) for 10 and either tim reggie or bertans
I understand the fear of luka leaving, but this idea of only wanting talent/players who are able to play/win now is pretty much what caused Lebron to leave the Cavs in the first place.
Lebron KNEW he needed a super team to compete against the Celtics, but they didn't have the assets/space to get dwade and bosh. Why? Cause they spend it all getting guys like Shaq and Mo williams to WIN NOW.
Especially with the new CBA, you NEED players who play beyond their salary, which means you need diamonds in the rough who fit your system. Guess what? It's much easier to get that role player in the draft rather than hope the free agent you just paid lives up to the salary. You literally have this issue with Kyrie who wants 5yr max but the Mavs want 3-4 years or even McGee, bertans, and Hardaway jr who are seen as salary dumps rather than actual assets

I don't know why so many people say take lively. The guy just isn't a dynamic player. I guarantee he will not be a good pro. All you guys who keep screaming to take him will see just how bad of a player he is.
