Donovan Mitchell as the ballhandler in pick and roll in 22-23 is the 10th most effective playcall in the last 15 NBA Regular seasons.

Really cool graphic that follows up on JJ Reddick’s retort to SAS about a Jokic post play being the most effective playcall in the past decade.

This is pretty insane. 30 teams 5 starters, 15yrs. A pool of 2250 players over that time and a 6’1” guard handling the PNR is the 10th most efficient call.

Also noteworthy: Steph off screen is asinine, and Kyrie is right beneath mitchell with the playcall being isolation.

Stats like this, along with the story of how long Jokic and Jamal Murray have played together force me to be patient with the team. The playoffs were very disappointing, but give Mitchell time to build chemistry. Give Mobley time to evolve and get stronger. Maybe even give coach some time to actually learn an offensive system. Jokic and Murray have such beautiful chemistry. I see no reason why Garland/Mitchell and Mobley (maybe even Allen?) Can’t get much much better with time and familiarity. I need to remember that the core will only get better, and the supporting cast can be turned over.

    Go Cavs

The fact that JJ Reddick used this stat and is a surprise inclusion on here with a bunch of hall of famers is quite ironic. Side note 2017-2018 Harden was another animal and people don’t quite appreciate him for his positives and tear him apart to much for his negatives IMO.
