  1. Genuine question: what percentage of anonymous sources in sports aren’t even real? I feel like 95% of sports media is either faking it or producing stories to push a narrative for an agent/team.

He can’t even be moved until July?

Let’s be real, the luxury tax concerns are very real. Makes way more sense to move him at $36 million this year than it will be next year at $50 million

If the choice is Naz, naw, and using the full MLE or keeping just naw and MLE and keeping towns personally I’d move towns.

My hot take: watch for them moving towns to a team in the lottery for their new point guard. Anthony Black or scoot

I imagine multiple teams would be interested. I doubt they just “jump” on anything

  4. Houston trading for KAT because that’s the only way they get Harden to sign in free agency would be a perfect situation because it gives the Wolves so much more leverage in a trade. Similar to how OKC got the haul they did for PG13. I would do Jabari Smith, cap filler, the fourth pick and much of their stockpiled firsts.

Pretty sure this dude has been predicting a Towns trade for years now. But kinda hilarious this is getting picked off an article about fantasy GMing Houston moves after they acquire James Harden.

  6. Sam7sung

The story says Houston might try a three team trade to get KAT. That’s worse than the fake trades I’ve seen on Reddit

Good, get KAT outta here. His value dropped a ton this past season, I know he had an injury, but still he has always lacked defense. Best to swing a trade when his value is as high as it will ever be…

  8. VikingsandWolves

Id consider the trade for 3rd overall pick(scott), Simons, and a future 1st round pick otherwise I aint sending him to NYK or elsewhere where all u can get is draft picks.

KAT is an incredible player especially on offense, but I’ve never met an NBA all star that’s as big of a loser as kat (oh yeah Ben Simmons) just can’t perform in clutch time and overcome or rise above any team obstacles and be a leader. I’ve only been a fan for barely over a year but I’m done with this man he soft…maybe I’ve been playing too much nba 2k be a gm mode but I would trade KAT to Houston for the 4th overall pick and select Amen Thompson. Sorry I’m a little drunk lol

It’s a semi-logical conclusion, but isn’t this that fringe Lakers reporter? Not trying to be mean, but why would he have any sources of note with other front offices in the NBA? I hear his name pop up every so often, but it’s usually just like mock trade proposals and stuff like that in quasi click-bait publications.

Though I guess you could talk to like the Vice President of ticket sales for the Hornets and that’d technically be a competing executive.

  11. DoctorPlasticCuts

They’re not trading KAT this summer. I bet anything

Read a bleacher article that mocked up Dejounte+ to wolves, Kat to hou, picks to Atl. Fillers were floated too.

What’s our thought on Dejounte? Me personally, would love either him or Scoot in a Kat trade. 🤞🏽

  13. LivinForThaCity

Trading KAT for a pick would be so dumb. The league has conditioned fans into thinking every offseason has to have major changes…only to complain about it throughout the regular season.

I’ve been saying this for a year now. Towns is not the guy to build around. Talented player but his personality and attitude isn’t what you want in a leader. Build around Ant for sure. They could get a good package for Towns to use to put guys around him.

PleasePLEASE PLEEEEEASEGET RID OF KITTY KAT SASSY PANTS TOWNES

  16. mnakeela

I’m in the don’t trade KAT camp. I’d rather roll with a center who’s skill set doesn’t get played off the floor in the playoffs. Yes, D is to be desired and yes there are no show playoff moments but you can make the same argument about Jaylen Brown this year.

Trading KAT gets this Kahnelly out of the Gobert mess HE got us into.

  17. chalbersma

Anything less than 3 firsts is a bad deal.

  18. SmokyOtter

Three team trade with suns, wolves and whoever to send ayton out and kat to phx?

  19. BingoBongoBang

As they should. He needs to go somewhere that he can be a role player like Wiggy and expected to be the star every night

  20. AhSht-HereWeGoAgain

Have to make up a little for the abomination that was the Rudy trade

  21. JJettasDad

Good. Dude crumbles everytime in the playoffs. Trade him away, gather assets, build around Ant.

  22. Pyschic_Psycho

Has to be done, and honestly better now than later. I was on the fence about running the team back (I don’t think they would do any better), but this gives TC and our new owners the push they need to finally trade KAT.

On that note, is any one else really sour that Wolves seems to always get screwed by the new CBA’s? When we signed KG to that league breaking contract, suddenly the new CBA made it so we were basically screwed when it came to acquiring talent. Now that we maxed KAT, traded for another max guy, and will have to max Ant too (plus sign Big Mac)…well yeah good luck Wolves the new CBA says you guys are gonna be screwed.
