Don't think Scottie has the IQ to carry a team, last year was far more a disappointment seeing regression in decision making and will to win.
Appears to me the Raptors are after that 3rd pick and Scoot. This means it is complete rebuild time. Next year looks to be a tough one to watch. Undoubtedly O.G and/or Siakam will be dealt as the team focuses on Barnes and Scoot as the players to build around. My guess would be OG gets traded before the draft and Siakam during the season.
If the Raptors let VanVleet and Trent Jr go, then obviously they’re in rebuilding mode and it doesn’t really matter whether their PG is ready because they won’t be trying to win,
Fred likely will opt back in his player option since so many other guards are now available on the market which have a bigger name. GTJ has been doing promos for Toronto, unlikely he's going since Nurse is now gone. These reports are rumors for a reason, don't buy into the mediocre hype.

Younger direction!!?? How much younger than GTJ do people want to go?! I don't see Gary leaving. At least I hope not. As far as Fred, I don't care either way.
If the Raptors trade Siakim for Simons #3 #23 and OG for the #4 #20 that requires a completely different coach than if we draft #13 and bring back Poeltl and look for sign and trades for Fred and Gary.
Masai is not going to tip his hand of what he wants to do because he will lose leverage. Neither the Blazers or Rockets can trade the #3 or #4 until they make the pick and draft a player because they both lack their 2024 1st round pick. So if that’s the direction he’s going he might wait until the 23rd of June to name a coach. At this point there are no other vacancies so they aren’t under pressure.
Trust Masai I think he willing to keep Siakim and OG but he’s also plotting to take advantage of those two teams who are desperate to improve this summer and hold good draft picks.
I keep repeating it's Sergio, but nothing will be announced until he has finished in the playoffs. He has brought his team to the FINALS. No coach wants his current team hear about him leaving when they are playing in the finals. It's SERGIO! Patience people!!!!

with new cba teams will want bird rights and the trade exceptions they bring. in the future those trade exceptions that come with bird rights will be gold as it allows teams to get under the luxury tax.

Sergio will be the coach if they run it back and pick at 13 then try to sign and trade Fred and Gary. If Pascal is traded for Simons and 3rd pick, OG traded for 4th 5th 6th or 7th pick and filler then Kenny Atkinson would be a great coach for the young players.
The one thing I have learn is never to trust the league executive sources. They just be guessing like the rest of us.
