Wild how bill Russel is responsible for 75% of Celtic history
I love this! Haven’t seen it since I was a preteen. Why didn’t Shaq learn that beautiful sky hook? I love that shot. No one picked it up. I’ve seen Kareem offer his services to anyone who would listen. No one took his offer.
Still the greatest moment in Lakers history. Never get tired of watching this.
And I never get tired of this epic quote either.
“This has removed the most odious sentence in the English language. It can never again be said that the Lakers have never beaten the Celtics.”
-Dr. Buss at trophy presentation 1985 world championship
“Every season Magic has been healthy, he takes them to the NBA finals. That says it all
Poor Kareem – trying to say hi to his mom and just cut off lol
Still the only visiting team to win a finals at the Garden, right?
SoCal guy here. This happened while I was in junior high and in my group of friends we had ONE Celtics fan. Oh did we lay it on him big time after this victory. Poor guy but he handled it well and it was all in fun. He got his temporary revenge a year later when they won. But we got the last say in 1987 when we beat them again. That was fun.
One of my earliest childhood memories is my dad and his friends watching this and then partying all night after.
