Everytime Bam or Donovan Mitchell something special i remember Olshey traded two firsts to move up to draft Zach Collins because of a nice pass he threw at Gonzaga once

Best part of this to me is that he never was known as much of a passer at any level, so that one event wouldn’t seem to have been all that relevant to his projection in the NBA. Just goofy. I remember at the time scratching my head at that comment.

Oshley was obviously terrible. But I do actually think Zach would have been pretty dang good if he didn’t get injured so often early on. He missed out on a ton of development time.

Nothing againist OP but I’m honestly really tired of this point being brought up every offseason, six years after the fact. I mean I get it people don’t like Olshey and thought he was bad a GM. But of all the things to attack Olshey over his drafting record is probably the dumbest one because the FO under him generally got good value on many of their drafts outside of 2017.
I mean no one ever talks about how in 2018 Olshey drafted both Ant and Trent who have both been way better then the average players at their pick. Every single front office including the Jazz and Heat in have had poor drafts.
