    There also isn’t a great package for Dame. If we draft scoot at 3 to “replace” Dame; we are sitting in a 3 guard lineup. To get a successful return for Lillard you demand 1 young player and between 3-5 picks. If your core is 3 young guards; you’re not hungry for more young guards. Adding maxey and herro make absolutely no sense for Portland; and trading those “young assets” that are established in the NBA goes against the point of receiving young but established NBA guys. Look what happened when Durant “wanted l out. They still got 4 picks, cam Johnson and mikal. There isn’t a “mikal bridges player” out their packaged with 2-3 picks. And before Jaylen Brown is even brought up; he has 1 year remaining on his contract. That’s the wrong kind of situation buddy.

    IMO the best deal is 3 and ant for Jaylen Brown. This added a piece that can contend now but play on the sharpe timeline. Portland then also will have the full MLE (11-12 mil) to work with. Players like Bruce Brown (who is unrestricted BTW so Denver can’t match that Money so it’s Portland MLE vs the rest of the league) and try to free up the pick from the Bulls (whether they accept seconds or the 23 pick…. If it’s pick 23 a swap of Nas little for Caruso could be a possibility During the swap) and then we looking for a Vet big man for off the bench as well as every single first going foward.

    I would love to see Dame retire without a ring in Portland but if Portland wants to commit to a rebuild, they should tell Dame that they are not going to trade away their pick. We know that Dame will never win a championship with Portland.

    If I'm dame, im hunting a situation closest to the chip and demanding a trade to miami ASAP, and if Im the front office of portland I make sure i try to get a PG mentor (Kyle lowry and because they can shave salary for when his contract expires) for scoot if he falls to 3rd pick, max strus (assuming he gets like a 4 yr 32m deal) and even try to get herro to pair with anfernee simons while shaedon comes off the bench, and match it however to make it work. Miami will need jimmy and bam to compete and caleb martin would be required off the bench, and jovic and highsmith likely to be developed and resigned if they improve, and with that, miami will also hopefully be able to find a serviceable centre who can floorspace

    Lmao at all this loyalty shit as he has always simply done whatever the option was for him to get the absolute most money possible, he has never sacrificed a single thing in his career to improve the team around him. Which is totally fine but for christs sake stop it with the loyalty bullshit. I hate KD and what he did but he took a paycut as a full on free agent to help the team be more complete and pay everyone. And everyone ignores that still to this day. And I never ever defend KD and that’s not what I’m doing but stfu with the loyalty or dame ever doing a single thing to help make his roster around him better. And he’s not that guy who can be the take all the money number one alpha drag a team with no other all star to a championship… those players should be the ones who can take all the money every time and complain a bit about the roster bc they’re def doing their part by being so great that they can do it all as the one massive money guy. That’s not the way the athletes think ofc, it’s their job so they want the most money for it, but quit with the loyalty bullshit when that’s the case!

    I would trade Dame.

    His value will never be higher than it is right now. But he's a win-now player. The clock is ticking on his career. But the Blazers are not a win-now team. Their entire roster is in rebuild mode except for Dame.

    So they ought to pull the trigger. Get what they can for him. Get their young players on the court and teach them.
