Him being undrafted isn’t some magical quality that puts him into a category of his own when it comes to criticism about his game and his contribution to the team.

There is a lot of hate (I’m not talking about criticism) for Fred in this sub. It’s wild to me. Guy is a Raptors legend.
He has his limitations and is frustrating as fuck to watch at times. But there is a parroted narrative that he’s a terrible player. When he is still absolutely a starting caliber PG in this league.
Without a path to replace him and our pick committed next year. I fully expect him to be re-signed and back next year. I expect the coach to play him less than 40 mins a game and the FO to get him some actual NBA level backup through the draft.

If he wants to sign a contract that reflects what he actually offers us I’m all for him staying. I’m not happy for us to give him a massive contract after last year.
If he wants to sign a 1 year deal and prove last year was a fluke then sure…but no way he deserves some huge contract right now.

What does PPG mean when you have a terrible Fg%? He is a good guard if you have a 2 legit options ahead of him.

Dude had to play like the entire game to put up those numbers and without his late season rally would have looked a lot worse. Love FVV for what he did but it’s time to move on.
