  1. I think the Spurs should prioritize the long-term approach and view when it comes to building around Victor Wembanyama.

  2. Let him be a rookie who does mistakes and learns from them. I don’t expect the Spurs to be instant contenders, or Wemby to be All NBA right away.

  3. I agree. I think you bring the same guys back. I personally think with a healthy squad, we can be good enough to make the playoffs. Our team won 22 games in a tanking season where guys also weren't healthy for good chunks of the year. I think we're a 30 win team w/out Wemby. Add Wemby and we add on at least 7-8 games, so we could be competing for a play in game at least, which is fine with me

  4. Yes! Yes! Yes! Playoffs are a sure thing. Add 10 wins to last year's squad since they were tanking. Wemby adds 15 wins. That's 45 wins minimum and that's without adding anyone else, including not adding another lottery talent

  5. I don't think they are going all in either, but I do think they're at least a play in team as is. Don't forget our young players are still developing themselves. I don't think any of them have hit their ceiling yet. Just that on its own could get us in the playoffs.

Also, I'm getting tired of trading Keldon suggestions. This guy has been all we've asked for, heart, effort, Spurs way, one of the few bright spots the past 3 years. Now we got Wemby, let's trade him, GTFOH.

  6. Hey Clan : Who do you think is gonna finish better in 2025 – Spurs or the Chicago Bullls?

I’d say the Bulls pick will about #12 in 2025 and the Hawks pick will be about #7. The Spurs pick will be about #18-22. So, we should trade our own picks in any deals, not the ones we’ve acquired from someone else. Ours will probably have less value as we get better.

  7. The regular season is weird. Some of the best teams barely squeak into the playoffs and then put on their red capes. The Spurs could make the play-in or even the 1st round, even with all the experimenting. That said, I agree with playing the long game and having patience, and only trading for higher draft picks this year. Personally, I wouldn’t trade any of our young core. Would you trade away the two unprotected 1st round picks from ATL for a chance at another Top 6 pick in this year’s deep draft?

  8. We definitely have to go all in asap, big men like his size don’t last you can’t risk the time it’s not on our side

  9. I’d say wait at least a year before we start trading out picks away for veteran talent. Let’s make sure Wemby is who we all know he is. Let’s make sure we know what exactly he does well and where he needs help. Then add the talent around him to hide his weaknesses and elevate his strengths.

  10. Meanwhile, Victor just scored 8pts and grabbed 7 rebounds in a loss in France.

  11. Pop is not gonna tank again. He's on borrowed time nba job-wise. Playoffs or bust. They have so my picks, tanking is necessary now

  12. I gotta go with bill on this spurs also have great chemistry add the Martian and they will be great. Other than a couple teams the league is a mess.

  13. I think we have a damn good chance of making the play in. The spurs will try to win this season. It isn’t going to be a situation like last season.

  14. I think it depends on the PG position. If we don't have Tre ruining everything and Wemby is as dominant on defense as we think. We will be better than a lot of teams

  15. People forget the Spurs are one of the only bottom teams that actually tried to play basketball last year and have some form of continuity with the roster. Also, Pop was tanking so many of those games. If we try next year (just like if we tried last year). I think we're in the playoff play in group easily, especially because due to the CBA many teams will get worse rather than better next year (think Minnesota losing Kat, Warriors losing Poole, Memphis not having Ja)

  16. Should we bring back Patty Mills tho I would be down maybe give him his last multi year deal and get his vet spirit back to lead everyone

  17. I feel confident that the Spurs will definitely make the playoffs, as is. If Pop plays all “truly available” people along with a full year of the new acquisitions and internal development, we are going to be a much much better team. The startling difference will be on defense. I think we can be a top 10 D next year!

  18. I just want him to grow consistently as well as the team around him we'll be just fine we don't need to make the playoffs next year or the year after that because I know when we do finally get our squad we'll be straight.

  19. I just read last week, from some other sports media saying, no matter what, even with the #1 draft pick, Spurs will finish with the 7th or 8th worst record in the NBA

  20. I agree I think we should evaluate the the talent that we have now and see who fits with the roster now and wait till next summer or at the trade deadline if needed

  21. I think you need to get playoff experience as soon as possible. They can sign a star vet short term and maintain the roster.

  22. If I am going to trade my lottery pick to the spurs, why would I trade for Keldon when Vassel is the better player? ( at least that is what most Spurs fan think) Just think about it.
