So Murray wins a chip and immediately says this? Jfc that’s rent free

  2. it’s basketball, it’s not that deep lol

Dude ducks the playoffs last year and then takes shots at a guy playing through injury.

Focus on yourself in triumph, what a bad winner.

Embiid’s “tackling fuel” is through the roof this off-season

Joker has the benefit of having just won it last year. That’s a nonsense take. It’s uncalled for.

We’ve gotta be more unhinged as a fanbase than ever before, you got chiefs fans and players mocking the eagles now the nuggets players and fans mocking the sixers, disgusting

Not gonna hate on either guy. Jokic is better than Embiid and it’s not as close as you think. After watching him these last two series it’s easy to see. We’d celebrate our championship point guard if he took a dig at Jokic.

Jokic seems likeable as fuck. Is this giga cringe deification if him that’s so fucking nauseating.

It’s funny how they’re on top of the world right now, but we’re living rent-free in their heads. Jokic is no doubt an incredible player and generational talent, but maybe Murray should stfu and recognize his role in all of this.

idk what everybody is bitching about. we would be doing the exact same thing if jokic got bounced early and embiid won a chip. victors get the spoils 🤷‍♂️

This is sigma level loser shit. Good lord man.

Not that this needs to be said anymore as it’s been beaten to the ground but everyone here likes Jokic. Also everyone here (begrudgingly) can admit that Jokic is better than Embiid after this playoffs performance. Before this playoff run all we saw on the other side of the country were a bunch of gaudy stats getting piled up, some of which a former Sixer used to accumulate in Ben Simmons and the assist numbers, while knowing those numbers were fraudulent and didn’t actually mean BS was a great player. Then seeing the physical difference in Embiid v Jokic and Embiid dominating him in their h2h, it wasn’t crazy for sixers fans to get all excited and go all in on this mvp race and want our guy to justifiably, finally get his.

However. That’s all now ancient history. Our guy flamed out in game 7 of the second round again and joked about it in the postgame presser while this guy kept his head down about all the MVP talk and just put his team on his back en route to a dominating postseason performance and championship win. Jokic deserves all the credit and Embiid deserves all the criticism. That’s it.

  13. He’s not wrong. Props to the Denver squad.

Why does everyone think Joel only cared about winning the MVP? Seriously asking why is everything Joel did last year for the trophy and not the team? Does it not help the Sixers when he scores? Or when he defends (which you could argue MVP voters care the least about defense)? Or when he plays 33 minutes in a game? Why is everything automatically attributed to him chasing the MVP?

Can someone please explain what last season looks like for Joel Embiid if he gave absolutely zero fucks about the MVP? Does he score fewer points? Play fewer games? Is he not getting hurt against the Nets (even though the race was over at that point)?

This has got to be the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever heard and I’ve ONLY ever heard it about Joel Embiid. And mostly from this sub (and r/NBA but they hate him with a passion over there so I don’t even care about that). Not any other player or any other league. Did we lose the World Series because Bryce “chased” the MVP? Did we lose the Super Bowl because Hurts “chased” the MVP (I know he finished second to Mahomes)? Was Tatum chasing the MVP whenever he scored 40 in a game? Or Giannis? Or Jokic? No. It’s basically canon that Joel is the only one and everything he does on a basketball court, specifically last season was in service of winning the MVP and absolutely nothing else.

Wanting an individual award or accomplishment and wanting a team accomplishment are not mutually exclusive and this has always been understood by every sports fan ever EXCEPT when it comes to Joel Embiid.

Easy to run past it when you already have 2…

This is the shit that bothers me. If you’re holding this in your head don’t wait until you win to say it. If you’re not gonna say it when you’re thinking it don’t say it at all. Anyone can talk shit after the fact.

On that note, I got some old comments to go delete.

  17. JoJo was passed over too many times. He focused on it too much this year. It doesn’t take away from him as a good human being.
