Bill Simmons is joined by former Sixers head coach Doc Rivers to discuss what Joel Embiid needs to do to take the next step in his career, how it ended with the Sixers against the Celtics, and whether James Harden’s playoff reputation is unfairly earned or not.

That Orlando team had prime T-Mac and the Detroit team was pre-finals runs. Doc always tries to revisionist history that blown lead.
Wow, these two hated each other. Things really come around, huh 🤝
Bill, can I send you a link for a nice webcam like JJ Reddick? Great pod, but we need a higher resolution to see your reactions. Its an overlooked detail, but so important for the youtube medium*.
You would think doc for once would hold some accountability for his detrimental coaching.
This dude refused to play young dudes kept bringing old ass slow guys into the rotation. Played rotations that made no sense such as having Harrell Dedmon tucker and Tobias on the floor at the same time and through it all he still doesn't have a decency to get through his narcism and still have the delusions of being as a great as Greg Poppavich and Phil Jackson lmao holy hell I'm glad that deluded old man is gone.
Missed opportunity to ask Doc about the RDCworld1 videos
i just watched their beef episode yesterday 😂
76ers changed DOC for a NURSE?! Crazy world…
Folks want Embiid to a leader, rally his teammates, "be around your guys & spend time witchur guys & let em know you love em" but iTz difficult to do that when you have teammates that you have chemistry with getting traded every year wifout the organization consulting you about it. The folks up top need to lead by example
You aren't going to help Embiid by continuing to make excuses for him.
Salute to Doc and Bill for doing this podcast despite their history.
Vintage Doc… has all the answers when talking stuff but sucks in playoffs
Doc needs to stop saying "Jo". Half the time I was wondering if he meant Joel or Jokic
Biggest choker in the history of sports. God bless his heart.
I thought Doc developed a permanent raspy voice later in life but I guess that was temporary from screaming too much in-season 😂
As a coach you can’t ever admit your dead after one shot…. Like how did this so called doctor earn his degree
Wow these two are friends again? Props to both of them!! This was such a great pod!!
This is a great conversation
Joel is almost 30. he's not that young.
Sheesh. Great interview from Doc. Guy is super intelligent. Easy to see how he has stayed employed as a coach for so long.
not expecting doc to agree to this interview. normally his interviews are painful to listen to. pleasantly surprised
This man has an excuse for everything and takes no responsibility. He would have loved a younger James Harden?! No shit lol, you work with what you’ve got. What a joke.
insert Paul Rudd Hot Ones gif
Damn. Doc spittin
Haven’t watched yet but I’m predicting Doc takes no real accountability and low key throws everyone else under the bus
16:43 Absolutely fascinating. He basically is talking about Simmons here.
How did this interview come about?
