People are not giving Gordon enough credit. He had Jimmy shook. Jimmy scored most of the time when smaller guys switched on him. Gordon held Durant to 22% from the 3, and Lebron to 26% shooting from the 3.

The Heat BURNT themselves out playing harder than the Bucks n Celtics. They beat those those teams only because they pushed themselves n played 10x harder. By the time they got to the nuggets they just ran out of gas… the intensity they had when they beat the bucks is what they would have needed to beat the nuggets. Unfortunately that could not be sustained. Jimmy can play harder than anybody else in the league unfortunately he doesnt have the talent for sustained success- he has drive n determination n thats his weapon. He needs a legit superstar…n if he doesnt have that hes just goiing to keep burning himself out by time he gets to the finals n never win a chip. Bam is a really good role player like Aaron Gordon or Wiggins but not a superstar (yet). Get Jimmy superstar help and that man will win a chip.

The media killed Tatum when he played bad in finals last year but some how we giving Jimmy Butler a pass. If you are a number one option that mean you are a supers on that team. Jimmy Butler is old but he can play basketball and Miami ONLY lost because the refs stop helping his team since game 1 against Denver but hey it happens.
The No. 2 player for Miami (Bam Adebayo) is a 6-foot-8 center who would be the No. 3/No. 4 option on most other title contenders.
The No. 3 player (Tyler Herro) is an overextended sixth man who missed the postseason with a broken hand.
A 37-year-old Kyle Lowry and a fading Kevin Love were expected to provide significant contributions.
And several undrafted players (Haywood Highsmith, Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, Max Strus and Gabe Vincent) were starters to major reserves.
… And Jimmy Butler led this team to two NBA Finals and three Eastern Conference finals in four years.
Not some so-called "superstar" like Damian Lillard, who typically loses in the first round and is in the lottery this year. Not another "superstar" such as Kyrie Irving, who destroys every team for which he has played.
Not another "superstar" such as Joel Embiid, who hasn't got close to getting past the second round of the playoffs. Not "superstars" Donovan Mitchell or Ja Morant, who has been to the second round only once in their careers.
Not even "superstars" Jayson Tatum and Devin Booker, who went to one Finals with better talent around them and have crashed and burned in the playoffs since.
Players get praised for doing less than what Butler did, yet people are going to blast him when people expected them to lose in each previous round.
Why does Joy keep putting emphasis on Jimmy being the reason Miami is there when it's really a team effort? I know this because I'm a Heat fan who saw both finals runs. Go back to the bubble. Jimmy wasn't the best player in the first round against Indiana. It was Dragic. Jimmy was the best player against the Bucks in the 2nd round but Bam was the best player against Boston in the conference finals. Then Dragic and Bam got hurt in the finals and Jimmy had to carry and people look at that and say "Jimmy carried Miami" but in reality they got there as a team. Even in this playoffs, Jimmy 100% carried Miami against the Bucks. But he didn't carry Miami against the Knicks. He didn't carry Miami against the Celtics. I would strongly argue he shouldn't have even won the Eastern Conference finals MVP. Caleb Martin should have. Jimmy also had 10 consecutive games from game 3 against Boston to game 5 against the Nuggets that he didn't dominate. How are you a number 1 and you don't put up a dominate performance in 10 consecutive games?
He's not a number 1. He's a number 2 with flashes of a number 1 who cannot do it consistently. That's what separates a 1 from a 2. The ability to dominate consistently.
