  1. Sign Damian.. surely Sean marks sign Cam Johnson too new deal even tho we go into luxury tax.. 🏆 right there including Ben Simmons.. he's our composer 😊

  2. Hello everyone we are officially in the off-season. The Brooklyn Nets have a very interesting path to getting back to contention.

They have two routes they can go this off-season:

Stick with the current core and make minimal adjustments.

Or go for a big addition to the core of Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton to compete next season.

Draft night will give us a clear indication or at least a overview on what kind of direction Brooklyn wants to go …

  3. Looking first at the Damian Lillard situation: Portland has all the pieces to a rebuild: Anfernee Simons Shaedon Sharpe Nasir little and the third draft pick(Brandon Miller or Scoot Henderson). If they don't trade that third pick Lillard is more likely to request a trade.

Miami and Brooklyn are Lillard's top choices. Miami lacks the draft capital and besides Tyler Herro with a big contract really don't have many assets to give back to Portland.

Brooklyn meanwhile has the draft picks, veteran contracts to match Lillard's salary and some prospect players.

Brooklyn could create a package of Spencer dinwiddie Joe Harris Patty Mills and Dayron sharpe plus three to four first round draft picks for Damian Lillard.

A possible Damian Lillard Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson Dorian Finney Smith Nic Claxton and Ben Simmons core could be very interesting next season and definitely compete…

Again Brooklyn doesn't have to go this route but the card's are definitely in their hands….

  4. As far as Cam Johnson goes Brooklyn will match any contract offer which could be around 90 million for four years…

While pricey to keep him Johnson and Bridges aka the Twins are cornerstone pieces of Brooklyn future and keeping them together is one big part of this puzzle….

  5. Looking at draft night if Brooklyn could get a center in Tristan Vukvcevic or Leonard Miller that would be good and give Brooklyn some prospects to help build up and develop.

But definitely could see Brooklyn leverage one of the draft picks in a possible trade deal as well…

  6. Looking at the trade market or free agency Brooklyn needs a backup center behind Nic Claxton to help bring more defense rebounding and length. Some good veteran options could be Andre Drummond or Mason plumlee. Some younger options could be Mo Bamba Thomas Bryant Mike Muscala or Mo Wagner.

Whoever they choose will hopefully be a good defensive presence for the second unit…

  7. We should use our three draft picks and select NBA ready players, if possible. For the sake of continuity and stability, we should run it back with same starters next season. I'm hoping to see an improvement over this season. After a few months into next season, we'll have a better picture of how to proceed. If results are too negative, Dinwiddie, Harris, O'Neale, and Mills are in the final year of their contracts. Their combined salary is $56,588,664 that will come off the books if we don't make any trades that would affect that.

  8. If Damian Lillard is not an option Dejounte Murray is a good possible plan B. He's on an expiring contract and fits the age timeline with Mikal Bridges Cam Johnson and Nic Claxton. Plus Brooklyn wouldn't have to lose significant draft capital to acquire him….

More importantly Murray is a good bucket scorer and could add some balance on the offensive side…

  9. Honestly, I am not sure Doug and Adam take the new CBA as a big factor in all this. It’s all well in good to say just sign Cam Johnson to whatever but I think people have to start re calibrating the way we think about overpaying players not based on the old CBA but the new one.
Let’s say you give Cam Johnson 25 plus million or more after bidding war all because he is a good guy. Just like Joe Harris is a good guy. Now Claxton is due for a big pay day he sees that Johnson got 25 million so reasonable Claxton should want 30 million. Now you have Bridges he wants an extension and he is not going to want less than Johnson and Claxton so you give him 35 to 40 million. Now you have three players who are not winning a championship, your cap restrained and you’re not going anywhere. And bad contracts after you overpaid players will be harder to move off.

The only way it makes senses to bring Johnson back is if the plan is to go after a star otherwise what is the purpose Of stockpiling all these high priced role players that fit on contending teams? What is the end goal Winning 40 games to save face on the horrible Harden deal? Is that the priority here?

  10. The Nets was one of the worst rebounding teams in the league this past season and we're talking about the possibility of signing Dame and if and how much we should pay Cameron Johnson. lol

  11. I'm happy for Bruce Brown, Jeff Green, and DeAndre Jordan becoming NBA champions. Bruce said he wanted to stay in Denver regardless of the pay. That's class. It's too bad Marks didn't retain hard working, high character blue collar assets like them.
