This was a horrible loss on SO many levels. 1) You can’t lose games like this at home against both Minnesota and Charlotte. You nave to establish MSG as a decided home court advantage. Especially this late in the season with the playoffs approaching. 2) Thibs has done.a great job coaching overall this season but this loss fall squarely on him. He has to have a better feel for the game as it’s going on and make the substitution accordingly. The team came out flat and could’ve used Josh Hart’s energy especially on the defensive end much earlier in the 1st quarter. Also no way IQ should’ve finished the game the way he was playing. He was totally out of control and RJ should have closed over him. 3) Once we established the lead late in the forth we should’ve been running some offensive sets. It was like we were headless out there even with Brunson out there. 4) Grimes. His play on offense is truly starting to become a concern. I think it’s time to seriously consider replacing Grimes in the starting lineup with Hart. I don’t think the team comes out complacent against ANYONE with Hart in the starting 5. We can’t afford those type of starts in the playoffs. 5) Lastly Julius was sensational but he was obviously gassed and the team let him down at the end. It seemed like they were more concerned about getting him to increase his scoring output instead of making plays to win the game. JB included. Even he deferred to an exhausted Ju instead of closing the game out like he usually would do at the end of the games. Overall I’m not concerned. I believe we’re still poised to make a run in the playoffs but obviously there’s plenty still to iron out before then. Im sure we’ll take this frustration out on Miami. Let’s go Knicks!
Please do not misconstrue what I am saying on this medium! Coach Thibedou is a defensive coach who happens to burn his teams out PLAYING DEFENSE! The KNICKS gave up almost 80 points before the half! HORRIBLE DEFENSIVE EXECUTION AS A TEAM! The fans of New York really appreciates the effort and sometimes a lack of effort there of! This lost is due to Mismanagement and not extending your rotations to get your players much needed rest! Teams now know the Knicks are a dangerous team! And they will be bringing their A games from here on into the playoffs! And this coach better start managing Randall's minutes, Brunson minutes! And start using Deuce a little bit more at that point guard position! Play and start Obi Toppin a few games just to give Randall much needed rest for the playoffs! Same thing with Brunson! Not Load Management! Just Randall doesn't start but he plays 20 minutes! And Brunson doesn't start and plays 18 minutes! If this coach does not even consider this! The Knicks will be shopping at field and streams for fishing tackle and bait after the first round!
From the opening tipoff our Defense was looking like a problem. KNICKS were trying to match the Timberwolves point for point without playing Defense. This had implications of things to come during intensive moments of the upcoming Playoffs. You saw Julius go off for a career high 57 points, but you also saw the Mental breakdown when the pressure in closing minutes began. Julius needed help and didn't get it.🤔
to say that we fought back against a team full of Role players is ridiculous. Praising Minnesota's defense when we scored 134 points is mind boggling. The Knicks DIDNT COME TO PLAY and it would have been better if they got blown out, then "FOUGHT BACK". Made these dudes look like the Globetrotters out there.. The Knicks didn't shoot poorly. Look at the percentages (Besides Quick).
around the 1:21 mark of Stream, Sim Said he believes the Knicks are a 50 Win Callober team as Constructed Since trade deadline ( J. Hart ) i agree, Next season with Same Players and another year Under there belts , i Can see that if Mostly healthy 🤔
Thibs is exhausting the Knicks starters and will not let the second unit get more minuets and experience to relieve the Starters. The starters are burnt out so they are not defending well.
Lol did I hear Josh say Randle is a top five Knick smh. Either has not knowledge of, or respect for franchise history. Reed, Ewing, Clyde, Gallatin, Guerin, Pearl, DeBusschere, King, Melo. And that’s just off the dome 🤦♂️
Why are teams beating the burnt-out Knicks now at the end of the season? Teams the Knicks defeated before. Knicks will not be able to beat the Cavs in the first rounds of the playoffs. Cavs are going to beat the Knicks with Donovan Mitchell in the playoffs just like Atlanta did with Trae Young because of Thibodeau. The curse of Thibodeau is that he burns out his teams at the end of the post season.

Wish Thibs would have brung Deuce in to try to disrupt their players… especially on the perimeter… but I think this was definitely a trap game
