Real Lakers fans know why those teams in Kobe’s final few seasons were sorry. He blew his knee out at the end of the 2013 season (last game of regular season) to drag em in to the playoffs. Then spent most of 2014 battling back from that injury and getting injured again. Meanwhile Dwight left after 2013 for Houston. Melo reupped with the Knicks after 2014. Kobe announced after 2015 that he’s retiring after 2016. Hobbled Kobe was the gate attraction while they faced the music and kick started rebuilding mode following the 2014 season.
