Lakers are not 2024 contenders. There are many other teams that are better suited than the Lakers.

Lakers need another PG & defense oriented C to back up AD. Another PG is needed since Lakers may lose Schroder or Dlo.

Schroder will make a big mistake if he goes to another team. Priority should be AR and Rui. AR should be groomed as point guard for us to win a championship. Trade Dlo for Gary Trent or Hield. Sign Josh Rich, Naz Reid and Dwight Howard. We also need a low salary small forward who can score.

Lakers will be contender for sure if they will improve with this matters:
1. Improve there coaching staff, they need another assistant coach beside Phil Handy that can remind & correct Ham if he is not doing well in his rotation..
2. Get a Veteran & Consistent PG & Center that can matchup with Murray & Jokic while AD & Lebron are resting on the bench..
3. Bring Back Reaves, Rui, Walker, Schroder, Vando, Thompson & Gabriel..
4. AD needs to improve his game specially his skills like post moves and body so he can dominate other bigs like Jokic, Embid, & Giannis etc..
5. Stop the 3 Guard Lineup & Start playing Big while attacking the basket..
Those who deliver when it's time to deliver during the playoffs will get the chip. No matter who you put in your team if you don't put up those numbers when needed they will not be able to reach their goal.

Play LB and AD 24 minutes a game for the entire regular season then take a run at it. You play them big minutes and they will fall apart physically.

Kobe wanted to go to Chicago. He wanted to play with Dang. Dang was the trade piece. Jerry Buss had a talk with Kobe and worked out differences.
The games against the Nuggets were close and were winnable. The Lakers just had offensive struggles during the 3rd & 4th quarters. I think the Lakers would have won that series IF AD and Dlo shot well or played like the series against the Grizzlies and Warriors. IF Ham made quicker adjustments making LBJ/Rui/Thompson guard Jokic and letting AD roam in the perimeter, letting Jokic be a scorer rather than a play-maker and giving Rui more opportunities when the Lakers offense get stagnant. Rui was the one looking to score in the paint during that series knowing that the Nuggets don't have a rim protector.
Howard Beck has this tendency to articulate the obvious. Clearly, Denver will be the favorite going into next season. But they're not the 17-18 Warriors. They are definitely beatable.
Their rim protection is suspect. They atleast have 3 below avg defenders in Jokic, Murray and Porter in the starting lineup. They'll lose Bruce Brown, Their strategy against the Lakers was to crowd the paint and challenge LA to make perimeter shots….Duh…nothing surprising there and none of our newly acquired talent or our stars shot well in that series. Lebron was clearly hampered by the foot injury and didn't have his jumper legs. AD's jump shot has gone missing for a while now….DLo shot 17%…

We must improve our roster in rebounding and big man depth. Replace Beasley + leverage the 17th pick or draft a sniper and bring back the rest of roster. We can compete for a championship absolutely if both our stars are completely healthy….🤞…

It would have a been a tougher pill to swallow had the heat won the Championship, just because of the make up of their team and only having 1 superstar in Jimmy Butler.
