Can’t have the focal point of your offense be a dribble heavy center who quits at the slightest adversity in 2023.
It’s honesty malpractice not to trade him while his value is as high as it’s ever going to get. But ownership won’t do it for another year or two. The loser energy has to go with him.

He’ll probably be better now that he gets to coach an actual PG in Harden instead of Scottie “Gap toothed Ben Simmons” Barnes

Hard to see Harden and Embiid being better individually than last year. Maybe they’ll be in better roles. Sure as hell feel better about Nurse than Glenn. Most excited about Maxey and Springer’s development, and to see what other moves Morey makes.

No I expect him to shit his pants and eat it.

What’s the point in believing otherwise?

If he can’t get us there, then we’re just not capable of getting there with Joel and James, as much as I hate to say it.
I will die on the hill that Doc was a bit underrated and not nearly as bad as many made him out to be, but he sure as hell wasn’t cutting edge with play design, roster construction, system development, or any of the brainier parts of the job.
Nick Nurse is the polar opposite. He’s great at the brainy stuff, lacks a bit with the old school coaching player management (if at all), and has a much heavier focus on player development. For example, bringing in Rico Hines is a HUGE get. I like Sam as much as the next guy, but we’re about to see a huge difference in player development.
To answer your question, maybe.

I believed the Horford year was our year.
I can and will delude myself into this one.

Hard maybe. I’m not holding my breath but I’m still gonna have fun watching next season. Everybody wants the ring and every year 31 teams don’t get it. I’m just happy that we’re a playoff team and that we can hang with the very best of em’ when we’re healthy.
