Is Nuggets title win good or bad for the NBA, Bradley Beal heading to South Beach? | THE HERD

The Denver Nuggets have celebrated their first NBA Finals win this morning at their championship parade after a 4-1 series win over the Miami Heat. With the NBA Finals featuring two smaller markets, it raises a question on whether it is good for the league and if the lack of big markets turns off fans from tuning in. Colin Cowherd breaks down how NBA Finals ratings decreased despite newer faces in the championship. Meanwhile, Bradley Beal may have signed a big contract but is reportedly on the trade block. The Heat are expected to pursue the Washington Wizards star if he becomes available. Watch as Colin explains why Beal in South Beach makes them ‘favorites in the East.’

  1. Collin, why do you simply ignore or at least lowball the obvious? Yes, leftist politics have ruined the NBA. Perhaps not destroyed them, but have ruined them definitely. Their brand is in fact tarnished because it has divided the country. You can’t keep doing this it’s smacking every day Americans in the face with this insulting and dishonest take. You are better than that. Have a talk with Clay Travis, he’ll be able to help you understand this a bit better. If the NBA wants to be even more profitable, while simultaneously, having honor for their brand, they will choose the American path. It stop hating traditional values, and stop listening to the moronic, and to be frank somewhat evil positions to the left, has force them into.

  2. Stop the cap Beal wasn't moe impactful to the Wizards than John Wall
When John Wall was hurt when they were ok thr same team rhe Wizards struggled
When John Wall played they were better
Beal is a high level producer who really doesn't impact winn8ng as your #1 or #2 guy
Can he be someone who can just be a second star to a true superstar and help him yeah but that team would already have a winning culture ablnd probably was already a title contender before him

  3. I return to the NBA because of Jokic, stoped watching in the 2000’s, because it became a circus. Jokic is bringing common sense back to the league.

  4. Really Colin? Your just going to skip over Magic and Bird literally saving the NBA before MJ emerged to be able to revolutionize it?

  5. Uhhhhhh the wizards have had ONE "good" season since wall got hurt/traded. 2014-18 wall was the reason they were making the playoffs
2017 game 6 wall hit a shot to keep the season alive with under 5 seconfs left down 3-2

  6. Magic and Bird saved the league. If their is no Bird and Magic, there is no Michael Jordan. No your history.

  7. NBA finals game 6 is tonight is there a game 6 of the NBA Finals. Will there be a game 7 on Sunday on Father’s Day.

  8. For die hard basketball fans, it was a breath of fresh air. For mainstream and big money interests they hate it. This chip is like the little man finally reaping the fruits of his labor (everyone always dismisses Denver because it’s an unattractive city, the brand has had a stigma as a “joke franchise”). Mainstream analysts and big money would have preferred LAL,Boston, and even Miami because they’re a grandfather franchise that keeps on collecting because the rules and regulations is fixed for them.

  9. Wasn’t this the most watched finals in the last five years? Best since Lebron and the cavs vs golden state with kd

  10. From Aus… 4 years ago i had one person at work to talk nba to. I now do nothing but talk nba during the season. Most go for small markets. Could it be international impact changed markets?
    Cheers colin!

  11. Hi Colin: Thanks for the Denver Nuggets and Jokic background on the set…Damodar

  12. Great for the league. Maybe teams will try and build from within, keep the same coach for several seasons and get away from the Lebron super team thing.

  13. NBa lost me when they started jacking up 20 threes a game. It is not true that steph change this league, it was the Daryl Morey and company that made it worse IMO.

I understand the statistics behind it, but they lost the creativity of players that made it exciting in the 90 and 80’s.

  14. Great for the league, fans, and new media as it expands the competition and the player's brand to become more popular worldwide. Only thing it is bad for is the old media who only want their cherished Superstars and championship-branded teams to win it and stay in the spotlight.

  15. funny colin refuses to talk about how 2020 and 2021 were on record the two worst seasons in terms of viewership.

  16. 98 NBA Finals receive an all time high ratings due to the luxury of being on network television when households didn’t need cable to watch. Now over the air television are gone much harder to watch television

  17. Colin said you need major markers to receive high ratings…boy was Colin wrong…he said the 98 NBA Finals had an all time ratings high at 26 guess which team the Chicago Bulls faced off…oh that’s right Utah Jazz a small market team… Colin needs a brain 🧠 transplant

  18. Bad for the nba. Boring boring boring. And after lebron retires there absolutely won’t be anything exciting to watch.

  19. If Jokic is the best player in the league that’s bad for the nba. That’s like klitchsco being heavyweight champ for 10 years … and we still don’t consider him top tier 10

  20. You know, 8t would help if companies like Dish Network had paid ABC so that people who paid for the sports package, could actually watch the NBA Finals this year. I dont know how many people like me, pay extra on their monthly bills, just to be able to watch all of the sports channels, had to watch the score tracker on their phone through google or the NBA youtube score tracker live stream, but i do know there had to be quite a few people who were unable to watch. Wouldnt surprise me if it happens to be the reason why they were down below the average ratins

  21. THEY HAVE TO MAKE UP THEIR MIND IF THEY ARE GOING FOR COMPETITION OR RIGG FOR BUSINESS MARKET GAIN
