What people don’t understand is that books game is similar to a Kyrie a Kobe isolating and shooting KD actually IS one of those players we saw it with the Thunder, Warriors, Nets, and now Phoenix teams know this and this makes KDs talent even more valuable
I feel like Paul is really going to take a step back in a good way. He’s almost going to be like Kidd was in Dallas. He’s just going to run the offence and let those guys work. KD is a really great fit for that system which is scary. I think they might take a bit longer defensively but offensively I think they’ll be fine
It's really gonna take more than that 6 weeks to build that chemistry to mesh anyway. It's gonna take at least 2 seasons. Which is why I wasn't surprised the westbrook situation didn't work out on the Lakers.
The thing is they’re not going to fully mesh until next season after a training camp together and a full season of perfecting all the little things needed to put their best foot forward.
However, part of KD’s value is he is not a system to himself who demands to be on ball a lot, so it is so easy to play with him. Especially for the style and talent already there in Phoenix, they don’t need to fully mesh to win it all. They need to stay healthy and get as much chemistry as possible and they’ll have a very good shot this season with whatever amount of meshing they do. Next season, outside of a potential moving of CP3 for for an upgrade to someone else with some years left (Kyrie, Dame maybe, etc.), I think the core is in place for the next 3+ years with KD, Book and Ayton. Role players will be tinkered with year to year.
He's not wrong. KD is fantastic but now they have to see how well the team plays together. Booker will be used to having the ball often but now that KD is there they'll have to find a balance. Forming together with CP3 I think will be easy because i think CP3 will be looking for assists more then he will scoring. Booker and KD blending together will be the key factor.
Good thing for the suns is kd is under contract for the next couple years i think they will still do good in the playoffs but I feel like next year they will have a serious championship run.
People that are still saying that this is unfair everytime multiple superstars join a team are just dunce and/or hasn't been watching the NBA for more than. A year or few. So-called super teams hardly ever work and some are only known as such after their "nobody" players start being efficient.
KD can fit with anybody. Literally the easiest superstar to play with. We saw what he did with 19 games left last season in spite of Steve Nash's HORRIBLE coaching. Imagine what he's going to do with good coaching and a floor general who actually plays his position.
KD is the easiest star player to gel with since he doesn't care about getting a certain amount of shots he just wants to play and win as we saw he in his debut he only had 23 but it was an efficient 23 and booker had 37 so I think the offense will be fine even if KD is new but they need to figure out the defense since the traded Bridges their all nba defensive player and DPOY runner up so as long as Phoenix can figure out their defense and losing Bridges isn't a big hit defense wise then they should be fine because their offense got 10 better so as long as they can still be solid defensively they'll be great
He will make others around him just want to be more efficient.. you’ll see everyone’s focus go up on making more shots, even more so than before. It’s a big part of his leadership style that most can’t see.
If this was 2k then maybe they’d run thru every team but it’s not. Like chill said they have to used to playing together but at the same time are they WILLING to take a few less shots a game so KD can shoot 20 a game
I look at it like this. Two payets that can spot shoot and iso with cp3 at point wont take long for them to mesh. As long as they stay healthy I see them making wcf
