Ja Morant suspended for 25 games, Michael Jordan finalizing Hornets sale | NBA | FIRST THINGS FIRST

The NBA has suspended Ja Morant for 25 games at the start of the 2023-24 season. The Memphis Grizzlies star will have conditions to meet to return to the court. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes react to the news. Meanwhile, Michael Jordan is reportedly finalizing the sale of the Charlotte Hornets for $3 billion. He is selling the team to a group lead by Hornets minority owner Gabe Plotkin and Atlanta Hawks minority owner Rick Schnall. Country artist Eric Church and rapper J. Cole are also part of the ownership group. The FTF crew debate on whether this sale impacts MJ’s legacy or not.

  1. If he was white it would've been at minimum 50 games, or more likely a season and not picked up in the league again.

  2. What the FCK is Brou talking about?! He said Jordan has done some good stuff for the Black community since then and then proceeded to just name ways that Michael Jordan has gotten rich. Bro that was some super low grade commentary. Appalling to hear that on TV from a Black person.

  3. MJ is a billionaire approaching 70yrs young, it's practical to move on and enjoy your twilight, but non critical thinkers wouldn't see it as such, too bias and judgmental.

  4. This sounds like the start of a "who has the greater basketball mind" segment. I think Bird might be number 1. Great player, great coach, and great GM.

  5. Is it really mental health tho?? Or just a young multi-millionaire showing his immaturity and being reckless?

  6. LeBron hasn't done anything for social justice but tweet and speak upon it, respectfully, that's not activisim, Ali was an activists.

  7. Maaaaaannnnnn! dont give two s@#$s about MJ being a owner! He's my GOAT! PERIOD!

  8. They want Ja out of Memphis so bad. If your a star or going 2 be they want u in Cali, NY, Boston, & etc. Ja good

  9. Nick is right about mj fans. They will ignore any shortcomings Jordan has had but pump up his accomplishments as if he was the only person to accomplish anything. I don't personally think his horrible ownership legacy should matter when it comes to his incredible basketball playing legacy but he is right. If his Charlotte team had any type of success, they would tie it into his overall basketball legacy, but because they've been terrible its never mentioned.

  10. i dont understand, if you have money and like guns you can go get military/john wick training. guns are fun and serve a purpose because you shouldnt rely on other people for your own security. just do that, stop acting like an idiot in a way that can get you killed or lose everything. if he posted a video at a range doing fast competition shooting no one would care. he wants to be a gangster for some reason instead of a rich millionaire with a fun gun collection and shooting hobby

  11. It affects MJ’s legacy as an owner. People will see him as a bad team owner, but a good player. Just like steve keer, people sees him as one of the best coaches and also the one that saves mj when he won’t shoot the last shot.

  12. Silver thought he did something with that 25 game suspension. Now Ja is about to get his toy guns. It never ends

  13. Nick get off lebron sack.. jordan has 10 scoring titles, a season where he averaged 37 a game.. a season he played point guard and averaged 32 8 and 8.. so stop this myth he was only a scorer.. he has 5 mvps, a dpoy and don't even got to bring up 6 and 0 in the finals with 6 finals mvps for his resume in 13 years with the bulls to be better than lebron 20 year career.. the things people say to make lebron seem so great without telling the full story always blows my mind . Only thing lebron has on jordan is LONGEVITY!!! no matter what you try to come up with to water down jordan, lebron still will never PASS him
