One player believed to be on the Hawks’ radar of potential trade targets is Raptors forward Pascal Siakam, sources said, and Toronto marks another team front offices are closely monitoring for trade activity. Similar to the team’s position leading up to the trade deadline, the Raptors are said to still be deliberating various pathways to proceed with their roster. One north star remains clear for the Raptors: The franchise views Scottie Barnes as the future engine of this offense under new head coach Darko Rajakovic, sources said. From there, Toronto has to weigh decisions on Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, OG Anunoby and Gary Trent Jr.
The Raptors have been repeatedly mentioned by league executives as one of the teams, in addition to New Orleans, Houston and Washington, that will continue attempting to move into the top three as the draft approaches. Toronto has also contacted Houston about the No. 4 pick, sources said.
To make a deal with Houston or Portland — the Blazers and Raptors have discussed both Siakam and Anunoby in the past, sources said — there’s some relevant context at play. With Siakam, any team acquiring the All-NBA talent would have to consider Siakam becoming eligible for a lucrative extension this summer, entering the final year of a $37.8 million contract. Anunoby has been a target of Portland’s for some time, although the Raptors have told rival teams they declined the Blazers’ efforts to swap the No. 7 pick in last June’s draft for Anunoby.
The Indiana product remains a buzzy trade name entering this offseason after the Raptors elicited various offers for Anunoby in February. According to multiple sources, the Raptors forward is very much welcome to remaining in Toronto if he’s able to obtain a larger role in the offense moving forward.
If VanVleet and Siakam are both back with the Raptors flanking Barnes, then that scenario could make Anunoby one of the most coveted players on the trade market. Sacramento has been increasingly mentioned by league figures as an Anunoby suitor, while the Kings consider the future of free-agent forward Harrison Barnes. Toronto, though, is expected to hold significant asking prices for both Anunoby and Siakam, as has been the Raptors’ practice.
There indeed remains the possibility that VanVleet will rejoin the Raptors after declining his player option to reach unrestricted free agency. Early indications are that any team hoping to land VanVleet’s services is going to have to surpass three years, $90 million. While Trent Jr. still considers what to do with his own player option, the Raptors guard is expected to command at least $20 million in average annual value, sources said.

Everything points to a retool and Scottie as the future. I just feel like it won’t happen based on the last few years. I want it too but I just can’t believe it until it happens.
There it is again with OG wanting a bigger role in the offence. He is quite clearly not good enough on that end so he’s the first guy I would trade.

Hawks wanted Siakam last year and they have about the same sort of non-offer on the table as they did in 2022
Actually I take that back because since Collins would likely be the main piece of salary coming back and his 3 point shooting has fallen off of a cliff due to his finger injury, the offer would be worse even if AJ is a great young sniper
Trading OG and keeping Siakam and Fred is probably the stupidest thing we could do
Unpopular opinion: OG never grew offensively the last 2 years because of injury and inconsistent role. Nick didn’t really create an offense to get guys the best looks possible so if you couldn’t iso your way to a bucket you weren’t scoring shit unless you caught an off rebound.
I think the reason the FO rates him so highly is because they truly believe he can be a 20+ ppg guy with elite efficiency

I think if you move off of Pascal and Fred, keeping and extending OG makes a lot of sense, his age fits with the next window
Hawks stuff is moot nothing will come of that. The rest is stuff we’ve heard before.
My honest opinion
Trade OG for the real haul – either top 5 drafts picks in the upcoming draft and a package of players. I really like OG but if we are being honest, in terms of raptors development preference they can get a high ceiling defensive first, athletic player late in the drafts. I know he has TOP defensive abilities now. But it’s easier to find defensive first players in the draft to replace or at least project to replace some of OG’s defensive production.
I would like to see Siakam traded now but I dont think it will happen – All indication from FO is that they want to stay competitive and not do a full rebuild. If that’s so I think we keep Siakam. With his offensive skillset (under hopefully less minutes) beats above average defenders consistently. You don’t find that generally in the draft or can project that from late lottery players. The issue is, if raptors dont do well, and you keep Siakam till this trade deadline, you’re more than likely trading him to a contender or mid team. So that would look like multiple mid to late 1st rnd draft picks for him then. I hate the prospect of trading Siakam for three/four 1st rnd draft picks that are all like 20+ high for 4 years.

IMO we needed a culture reset. I hope Darko can bring it. We need to get back to what we did well. That is building from within. Players trusting the organization, and coaches and vise versa. That means we need that “heat culture” type confidence and attitude (what we lost with Kyle). The only reason we won the championship was because we had assets to trade to get those “final” pieces. I’d prefer to roll the dice now and get a top draft pick or a VERY high ceiling young player than to sell off at trade deadline for mid assets.
Why the F would the Raptors even trade IG hoping the person they’re trading for become defensively elite and a very good offensive player.
Trading Fred and possibly Gary seems like the obvious move here
