If Lowry is traded to Washington and bought out, do we try to bring him back?

For those out of the loop, Miami is considered a front runner to get Beal:

[Developing: Washington is in serious talks with two finalists – Miami and Phoenix – on a Bradley Beal trade, sources tell
@TheAthletic@Stadium. The Suns have emerged as a serious threat for Beal, who holds a no-trade clause.](https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1670126468272209923)

[Source: The Miami Heat are aggressively pursuing a Bradley Beal trade with the Wizards and are looking to get a deal done before the 2023 NBA Draft on Thursday. A deal surrounding Kyle Lowry, Victor Oladipo’s salary and multiple draft picks is being discussed.

Beal’s No Trade Clause is killing his trade value to the point where Lowry is being talked about as the likely salary filler going out. I have to assume Washington will be looking at buying Lowry out, and if so, do we bring him back?

Lowry might prefer to try and sign with a contender again, or maybe go back to Philly to play under Nick again, so that’s up to him, but if he’s available I think we should try to bring him back.

It would be cool to have him come back, but I don’t see it happening. Unless the FO goes full run it back, they’d want to go younger and Lowry is probably gonna want another shot at a ring. I could see him going to Philly and I already hate it.

Love the GROAT, but if the deal happens and Washington buys him out he’ll probably just sign with a contender

If he WANTS to come back right now for sure we bring him back. If he wants to contend than he can do that also.

He’s probably going to sign with a contender. I don’t think he signs back with us unless it’s a one day or something.

Let’s get Demar off Chicago too, they look like they blowing it up anyways… use the pick to get a guard so we will have an entertaining season and a young guy to develop. Trade OG for draft capital and youth. Resign Siakam

    Lowry-Pick
    Demar-Banton
    Barnes
    Siakam
    Poeltl

Team would probably be a low playoff seed in the east, thus not sending the spurs a high pick (but more importantly, giving us full control of our 1sts again). Lowry isn’t as ball dominant as FVV is and doesn’t shoot as much, so Barnes would run more plays in this roster. And if he’s going to become a point foward mold, this would be a bit better.

Then next year we can reassess again where we are. We could blow it up again (Lowry likely retires, Demar can stay or go as the vet, and we can keep or trade Siakam for more cause he would be locked in to a bigger contract assuming he’s still an all star)

He wants to retire here right?

Would be a good way to start a rebuild with young guys, his role would be very limited though.

    It’s up to him

  7. Raptorsthrowaway1

100% take him back of he wanted to come retire here

He probably signs for a contender on the minimum tho. Lakers, Philly, Suns, Bucks would all be vying for his services

  8. pskill43

If he’s willing to come off the bench and be our locker room vet, why not?

But knowing Lowry, he probably signs with a contender

  9. The_Living_L

Think he goes to Philly unless he feels like it’s about time for retirement

  10. articulate_pandajr

I feel like he would want to run it back with a contender one more season before his retirement tour with the raps

On a team friendly deal to either serve as mentor/backup , or stop
    Gap for a year.

Probably depends on what Lowry wants. If he thinks he’s ready to hang it up, and get a bit of a swan song/goodbye tour, then yes. But if he’s still trying to pursue anything else, he’ll best go somewhere else. Whether that’s a bigger bag or another chip.

I would be so in favour of bringing him back.

  14. myrapties

Lowry is still playing winning basketball. He would probably go to a contender to ring chase before he comes here to retire.

I need Kyle back just to see him and Scottie bond and vibe like crazy

  16. minivant

He’s not coming back unless it’s at most a 10 day until he fully retires

  17. Barnicus53

No. What’s the point? This team isn’t a contender and he’s very clearly on the decline. Let him come back when it’s time to sign to a one day contract instead of creating a distraction for the sake of some nice feelings.

  18. Grinner067

Yes. He would be a great leader for all the young guys. Passing the torch so to speak.
Also, we can retire his jersey with him present

  19. Kevita24

Kyle will likely go to a contender, Clippers will be all over him, the Lakers will be on him like a fly-on shit, 76ers etc.

  20. JustAHumbleMonk

He was barely playable in the playoffs. Why would we want him? Nostalgia? No.

  21. jaydogggg

I’d love him back but he probably wants one last shot at a ring. He knows he probably has 2 or 3 seasons left, and only this year is on a contract right now. If he’s going to ring chase now is the time to do so

  22. RagingBullSocks

Could he sign back with the heat or nah?

  23. Mutley1357

For a Udonis Haslem type role…. hell yes. Dude knows how to win, brings player accountability, and knows how to bring teammates together. We need an identity, and Kyle in that type of role would be in my opinion HUGE for a culture reset/throw back. Didnt Lowry also say in some way or form he’d retire as a Raptor?

  24. ImmaFunGuy

Lowry is going to try and get one more ring. By the time he’s coming to Toronto to retire his jersey I don’t think he’s playing more than 10-15 meaningful minutes per night

  25. n3moh0es

why would he ever come back when he could ring chase

  26. He’s gonna go to Milwaukee or something tbh
