the combination of the ntc and length, size of his contract kills any hope of the wizards getting fair value. it’s hard to fathom the idea of a player of his caliber, going for pennies on the dollar. it’s just the harsh reality of the mistakes the wiz front office made in the past.
beal is in the driver’s seat, and has 2 destinations in mind. wherever he goes has to have enough assets remaining post trade, for the team to compete. wizards have zero leverage, and don’t have the luxury of sending beal to whatever team has the best offer. doing so would be bad for optics, pr reasons.
any deal beal gives the ok to will just be salary matching, not talent/value matching.

I just figured this trade on trade machine when I heard they were interested in Beal. If they get Beal, they’d probably move Herro.
I don’t necessarily want Beal but this just goes to show how delusional Celtics fans are. Everyone in this sub wants to run it back with the same squad while the team that already proved they can beat us is immediately working on improving. Thank god Brad isn’t as dumb as our fans.
