The Portland Trail Blazers are in an intriguing situation with Damian Lillard where they are trying to assemble a roster around him that can compete immediately, but the No. 3 pick is viewed internally as too valuable to trade due to the quality of the draft. At this point, the Blazers haven’t received any compelling offers for the selection. — ESPN

As Roman Roy once said, this is merely a negotiation tactic
@cyro asseo the problem with portland is they want both siakam and og anunoby for the 3rd pick simons and 24th pick and filler with no sharpe. you are not getting og anunoby for 24th pick and filler, thats the reality portland has to come to terms with. even siakam and 3rd, i think the problem is simons is one of the worst defenders in the league and has been his 5 years in the league so what are you really getting in simons. basically deangelo russel who plays no defence and you cant play him in the playoffs if ya want to try to win the chip. simons on blazers is a starter, but on a decent team that plays defence, simons is probably coming off the bench until he learns to play defence and if he doesnt, he likely go to gleague or gets traded.
