[HoopsHype] (NBA) executives project Middleton to command a four-year, $130 million contract

Saw this article posted in r/nba, full quote:

> NBA executives across the league who spoke with HoopsHype expect the Milwaukee Bucks to retain Khris Middleton this summer. Those executives project Middleton to command a four-year, $130 million contract from Milwaukee should he decline his $40.4 million player option for the upcoming season and enter unrestricted free agency.

> The Bucks have a strong desire to retain both Middleton and free-agent center Brook Lopez this summer, league sources told HoopsHype. Milwaukee is expected to compete with the Houston Rockets for Lopez’s services. Previously, Lopez told HoopsHype in January that he wanted to re-sign with Milwaukee.

Seems like a reasonable deal for Khris. Interesting to hear the Rockets are supposedly making a move for Brook, glad he wants to stay and we’re trying to keep him tho.

4 year $130 million, averages out to 32.5 mil a year. Paying him until he’s 35. Beal is getting an average of 50 mil a year guaranteed til he’s 32 with a player option on the final year at 33. I could see a player option on Middletons 4th year of a new contract. With Milwaukee’s diminishing chance of landing beal. And loyalty to and from Middleton, the cheaper deal from similar skilled and aged players — beal taking a slight edge in both categories — seems better. Plus I’m sure the bucks would rather be in business with Middleton.
