The band aid is off now, we are free to collect bad contracts and stack FRPs just like the Thunder did. Long term this is a necessary move.
And it’s fitting the bonehead era of Wiz management ends with a trade like this.

Normally when teams bottom out they move their current assets for future assets. All we got for Beal was second round picks. Hope this helps.

You need picks to rebuild.

I think 90+% r cool/want a rebuild, the complain was the return

So if we had traded Beal for Ben Simmons straight up, we wouldn’t have had the right to be mad?
DCSports101
Rebuilds don’t start by trading your franchise player for literally nothing. We can be salty at this return even if we’re happy with a rebuild in general. Don’t belittle the suffering of this fan base, it’s a miracle we still exist.

How many times have the wizards rebuilt since 2000 honestly.

Whining and bitching is a tradition fans won’t let go. The only time I ever want to stop being a fan is when I see the comments on Twitter and reddit and cringe at the idea of saying ‘hi’ to any of you in public.
When I see wizards fans in public I’m afraid it’s one of you braindead idiots, and I don’t wanna waste my time.

Utah, OKC, the Nets, pels, etc all got assets to kick off their rebuild. We’ve got nothing of value. It’s just going to be a Philly style process rather than a OKC war chest process. I personally think we should have been patient with the Beal trade and leverage a desperate team but I get the desire to just clean the slate.

I think it’s the timing… We could have kept our young talent instead we kept kuzma…
Or traded Beal like 2-3 years ago. Instead we get shit.
The issue is cp3 isn’t going to let us tank

People are upset at the return, and rightfully so. We could have gotten a kings ransom for him just a couple of seasons ago, and people were asking to tear down the team then.
The frustration has to do with the fact that people were reporting that Ayton or Herro would be part of a hypothetical return, and we’ve ended up with two players who have no business being on a rebuilding team and no first round picks to show for it. Rebuilding is the right move IMO, but this paltry return for our best player slows down the process.
The frustration you see is people upset with Tommy for offering a supermax with a no trade clause and 15% trade kicker for a player who had zero leverage. That’s the biggest reason why we’re in the situation we’re in. Beal and the new FO aren’t to blame for this unfortunate situation.

I wanted the rebuild to start 2 years ago so we wouldn’t have gotten such a dogshit return for beal
New_Essay_4869
Let’s be real, we all knew we were going to get screwed once Beal signed that deal. This was inevitable

Explain to me how rebuilding work when you trade away your best player for a 38yr old CP3 and a few second round picks?
What kind of rebuilding strategy is that?
JRSwishistheGOAT
The NTC completely screwed any return that you guys would have gotten for him, so it’s hard to blame the current FO especially because I think most people knew from the start that Beal’s contract was going to be hard to move once he received it. IMO though, it was the right move, hopefully the team is able to find good returns from a Kuz S&T or a Porzingis and Morris trade to start the rebuild off well.

This is simplifying it in a really dumb way. The fact we turned Beal into a bag of potato chips is a travesty. We had many opportunities to sell and we didn’t. Now here we are with nothing. It’s reasonable to be upset. A rebuild usually involves gaining some draft capital. A few 2nd rounders were worth close to nothing.
