Was listening to these mumbling idiots go through trades (I love Bills takes lol), and Bill said how the Scoot + Hayward for Siakam trade he loves.
Bill mentioned how Scoot + Scottie Barnes is hopefully starting a good culture. Ryan chimed in on how Toronto’s been teetering on running it back, but if we lose Fred and the whole crazy OG for 3 picks falls through again, this is a good foundation. Both went back and forth on Siakam’s value.

Hayward is a UFA after next season right? Not bad, we wouldn’t be stuck with him and he’d make a good trade piece at the deadline if he goes off in Darko’s free flowing offensive.
This deal would basically be Siakam for Scoot. I like Scoot enough for that, but not sure Masai does.
I love it too. CHA made a recent playoff appearance & had expectations of being there again this season but as we know, there were setbacks.
It has some merit in that I think Siakam can gel with Melo & Bridges on both ends of the floor and provides leadership/playoff guidance that CHA desperately needs & wants while dumping haywards dead money.
That said, convincing CHA new ownership to give #2 and an expiring contract is not easy sell. I’m pretty sure there would be discussions about Toronto’s 13 being sent back. Remember that Siakam is eligible for 4yr /$189m extension and is 29yrs old.
I also like the idea of a 3-way deal involving Siakam to Portland and Port #3 going to CHA as framework.

Ok but no, why the FUCK would the Hornets ever do that? Why pick Siakam , and his expiring contract, over Scoot or even Brandon Miller? They’re still in a rebuild. If Cade didn’t go down last season they would have by far been the worst team in the east.
Not to mention that’s a death sentence for Pascal and I don’t think Masai would send him there unless he agreed to it.
if the 3 picks for og was true, it was from the knicks…and one of them was the wizards pick which won’t convey anymore since they are tanking. so it would’ve been downgraded to a protected mavs pick (which probably won’t convey) and a knicks 1st.
I mean, Charlotte has made much worse decisions in the not so distant past. If there ever was a universe where they did this, I’d immediately be moving OG for 3 and whatever. Would be the dream rebuild scenario.
Hornets will draft Scoot and Blazers will trade #3 (BMill) + Simons for Siakam
1. Charlotte isn’t taking that.
2. Hayward’s always injured
3. I’d rather go with the third and get ANT over Hayward.
Why would Toronto do this? Trade Siakam for someone who might be as good or better in a few years or might not? What if Scoot doesn’t work out? Hayward is a total waste of time and money we are not a tanking team and never will be.
At least the Simons and #3 idea is two players and really Siakam should fetch us three real players, a starter, a prospect, and a bench player, which is what we paid Memphis for Marc Gasol who was heading into an option decision.
This isn’t a Beal situation. Why is everyone so willing to give up our players for nothing? That doesn’t benefit us it benefits other teams.
