To me, it's still a light punishment but honestly even if he did get punished for an extended period, it won't change who he is. The apology he posted is very safe and you could tell it wasn't genuine.
As long as he gets the money, he won't change nor learn from it, well he probably learned to not go live but that's it.

25-30 games isn't significant unless there's playoff suspension, but he shouldn't be punished in general

Well guy, back in 2012 and 2013 David Stern was still the commissioner and in both of those years Chris Kaman, who was still an active NBA player back then, posted several pictures holding and showing off the fact that he owns the same type of assault rifles that are used in mass shootings.
