First glance I thought this tweet was from Ryan Stiles lol, legendary improv comedian from Whose Line.

Thunder can use Micic’s rights and 12th pick to move up in the draft. Who will bite? Dallas seems to be the most plausible answer but is 10 good enough for Presti to bite? Is he targeting some who *may* be available at 10 but not on 10?

  3. Can the thunder sign and trade him? Because not many contenders will be able to sign him outright for that.

  4. IdRatherBeShilling

29 year old rookie with high demands. Who is he dislodging from the starting line up? Giddey? Jaylen? Williams? Chent?

  5. DemarcusLovin

Euroleague MVP in 2021. Turkish League FMVP this year.

6’5 guard. Drafted by the Sixers way back in 2014. 29 years old.

Could be a sneaky nice weapon alongside SGA, or wherever they trade him.

Now you guys know who Vasilije Micić is.

  6. AdulasMoonblade

Who the fuck does this dude think he is demanding to be a starter on a contender as a rookie lmao

  7. TheWestRemembers

Reminds me of when Dr. Evil comes back and asks for “One. Million. Dollars.” And everyone snickers cause it’s not a lot of money anymore.

  8. rumblegod

Oh wow that’s pretty cheap hope the mavs are smart enough to get him. Should maybe even trade their pick for him 🤣
Most likely the bucks are smart enough.

  9. mrwhite2323

He’s going to be a 30 year old rookie.

    Relax man

  10. Elec7ro

Blud has been saying this for 3 seasons now lol

  11. GovernmentDoingStuff

It sounds unreasonable, but he has a killer role right now in Turkey so these are his demands to come and play in the NBA

  12. ScutumSobiescianum

Nah mate, you start at the bottom a like everyone else. Or just stay in Europe

  13. Demand whatever salary you want, but FOH asking for guaranteed minutes in a league you’ve never played in.

Also, why is the dude from Who’s Line.. breaking NBA news?

  14. RUBEN4iK

    I mean, it’s understandable.

We’ve seen it many times. Euros with big resume come in, but are treated like some rookies (and I know they technically are), who need to grind their way up from being an 10th guy on the team.

Micic wants close to his usual role where he can thrive.

  15. TebbaMcPebba

Let’s not forget 7 mill ain’t shit in todays league, demanding a starting role is egregious but the money seems fair to me

  16. XenaRen

Here are the accolades for Vassilis Spanoulis , a former Euroleague legend that averaged 3PPG in the NBA. Not everybody is Luka, we’ve had very accomplished older Euroleague players that couldn’t adapt to the NBA like Facu and Teodosic. Good players but definitely not starting Caliber and maybe worth a 2nd round pick.

Kinda sucks that you can make a career and a life somewhere, but when you are ready for the NBA you’re stuck with some random team because they drafted you 10 years ago

  18. HoustonFoReal

He could be a great 6th man for us. Have him rotate in guard spots between Shai and Giddey, everybody could stay fresh

  19. GhostOfJiriWelsch

I love the way a lot of these euro PG run PNR, it’s paced so well

Micic has the size and athleticism to succeed here, I hope he comes over

  20. LostMyOtherLogin

If Denver was willing to try Campazzo then why not try Micic? Jokic already knows him from the Serbian NT.

  21. Warlord10

He is stocky, strong and has excellent ball-handling. You feel very secure when he has the ball. The Suns could definitely use him as could the Bucks and Celtics.

  22. iCOULDbewr0ng

I mean demanding 6-7 million is whatever…but asking for a starter role on a contending team is pretty wild, gotta earn that shit

  23. AppleJaxCinnamonMan

Sam Hinkie drafted this guy, which is wild to think about because he hasn’t been in the league in over 5 years

  24. qpwoeor1235

Davis Bertrans makes 2.5x as much as that and doesn’t do shit

  25. HotdogIsaSandwitch

I’m not trying to hate, but how much did Micic make last year in Turkey? I’m willing to bet it’s probably not over half of what he’s asking for in the NBA(he’s asking 6-7 mil a year according to this post). That NBA money is different, no matter what people say. I think he’s probably starting to realize that these might be the last years he has to make some real money in the biggest league, before he’s clearly over the hill. Just my take though.

  26. 0percentwinrate

With international talents in NBA on a tear over the past few years, 6-7M for an euro league MVP and reigning FMVP sounds like a real bargain.

  27. collapse1122

its honestly better to go for g-league guys that went undrafted, just look at the heat and even lakers with Austin. really there are only a few good domestic pro leagues in europe and yes turkey is one of them but most of the others are nothing special

  28. Ok_Pool7487

I don’t blame Micic, I also demand millions and a starting role when playing NBA 2K on my couch.

  29. He’s absolutely right to set certain conditions.

He’s been one of the best players in the Euroleague for several seasons now. What’s the point of coming to the NBA to be treated like a rookie?

  30. penguin_torpedo

Is there any examples of great European players coming from the Euroleague and doing immediately well

  31. As a Euro OKC fan that watches EuroLeague, Micić joining the Thunder has been a little dream of mine for the last couple of seasons.

I love the idea of him coming off the bench with the second unit and playing off Shai and Giddey at times. His shooting and ball movement suits OKC’s playstyle very well. More than that, his intangibles are what attracts me. The guy is a winner and would be a great veteran to add to the young pieces already in place.

Presti said last preseason that they want him and to consider it a year to year thing. Micić has said in the past that he would like to play in Oklahoma. His coach at Efes, who he is extremely close with is leaving the club after a disappointing season in the EuroLeague. Micić has one year left on his deal but has an opt out for the NBA this summer.

The comments many here are focusing on are from his agent. I would take them with a big pinch of salt. His agent is quite outspoken and known to say some over the top things. The fact that Micić signed with Wasserman in March for NBA representation says a lot.

For those interested in how he plays, this was him a few days ago in the closeout game of the Turkish league finals on the road. 29 points and 7 assists:
